This reminds me of a poster from the 60s, that had stick figures representing the signs of the zodiac as sexual positions. I think The Ladies Man has one on his wall. Of course now people are more imaginative in their practices, more athletic, and a lot more solo stuff. But don't ask me what most of them are up to. I assume whoever represented Cancer contracted a nasty case of crabs.

Two-week vacation begins today. Some camping planned, big-city strolling/shopping, major housecleaning, reading and classic movies, and retirement dreaming.

I'm preparing a zoom presentation about Visionary Art in conjunction with the exhibit in Chico. Writing it now. I still have to learn how to do zoom.

Time should count down pretty quickly from here on out. Do you have to build your own packaging for your pieces? Is there a special service for shipping art work?

Time should count down pretty quickly from here on out. Do you have to build your own packaging for your pieces? Is there a special service for shipping art work? I have been shipping art for decades, and usually take existing boxes and add layers and reinforcement. I did build some from scratch too. These works for the Chico show were larger than my usual convention pieces, so it was some work to cobble them together. I have used USPS, that is what our online store uses and calculates shipping with their module. Also UPS and FED-EX, all have their good and bad features. Mostly you want to protect the art, and not have it rub against other pieces or move around in transit.
I have written the presentation and read it aloud, it came in just under the maximum time 15 minutes. What I have to do now is set up a Google slide show to show the particular artworks I am referring to in the talk. And learn to zoom.

Good deal, miles! Thanks for expounding on the dimensions of prep'ing of your work for shows and conventions. I wouldn't want to trust anybody with my creations! My daughter would probably recommend watching a youtube video. Zoom may even have tutorials.

Updates: Scheduled for the more simple back surgery option in late September. The same doctor was set to do a fusion 3 years ago but since then the problem has been much more nerve blockage than pain we're just doing a Lamendectomy (I think that's the name)- take out the part that's pinching the nerve and I should up and walking in a day, with lots of stiffness for a while. One thing the surgeon said really interested me. He was telling me how surprised at how much it could relieve my problems and how much I've been dealing with- and how much having a nerve being constantly pinched will tire a person out. And it occurred to me, although I've only had really noticeable nerve pain for 2-3 years- my back problem- including some form of nerve blockage/radiating pain have been resurfaced for 5-6... which also roughly corresponds with my exhaustion problems. I've ruled out testosterone, upping B12 and D didn't do much, I was put on a large dose of anti-depression medicine in a weird strategy to combat it. I now struggle with a CPAP nightly, which certainly helps things in some ways. I use a therapy light in my office (because I work in an almost literal bunker- a library in a converted bomb shelter). But I still get soooo tired. I am reading my screen with one eye right now because I unconsciously close my lazy eye when I'm tired. What if, the PINCHED NERVE is the core reason for my exhaustion and always has been? I guess I find out in a couple months. This pandemic and this stupid state. The hospital has halted elective surgeries and (possibly because of it) my surgeon has severed his ties to the hospital and the clinic run through the hospital (where he was the only surgeon). So I no longer have a scheduled surgery or a doctor to perform it. So, on with this procedure again. Getting a recommendation from my Primary Care (who works through the other hospital system in town), new visits and delays and because I live in Stupid State, the epicenter of stupid people spreading the Delta Variant, it's quite possible I won't be able to get a scheduled surgery through them either. Coincidentally, The hospital where I had the surgery scheduled was also the subject of the other big event of the week. I had a jury summons this week and was put in a pool of potential jurors for a case in which the hospital in question was the defendant in a civil suit. Accused of a wrongful death of a Preemie. Luckily, I was not chosen (I think I stated too many opinions, possibly the judge took my concerns over my health in advisement).

I'm sorry Ned, that totally sucks. DeathSantis strikes again. Hope you find a new surgeon and get a new date soon.
