For most of my adult life I've worked in some aspect of the retail trade. The interaction with the public, product research, marketing, etc. have brought me job satisfaction and professional growth. However, the past year has seen a wearing of my nerves in dealing with the public. When did people start to feel so entitled? Courtesy, civility, decency and respect seem to be eroding from public decorum and discourse.
I've been watching Top Gear (UK version) on Netflix and have developed an appreciation for the high end, high performance cars the boys get to drive. In fact, I just spent wasted time configuring my own Ferrari California T on the Ferrari website. My goodness, it's a beautiful car.
Top Gear has also given me a better understanding of BMW drivers. I still think that they are the biggest assholes on the road, but at least I understand that they do all that speeding and weaving in and out of traffic lanes, in part, because their cars handle so much better than the average car (the other half of the equation is that the drivers are still invariably giant pricks).
