Russel Brand is a flaming idiot. Why do you have so much faith in politicians who are on the make and Big Pharma who cannot be trusted? Covid was handled atrociously over here and some people got rich from it. Just like the Arms Industry get rich from wars and media profit from reporting it. Have we learned nothing? No accountability. Disinformation and control gone mad. When it turned out Bojo was breaking all the rules, he said he didn't know what the rules were. The same rules he and his hand picked scientists told us about on a daily basis. And people got fined up to £10,000 for breaking. Complete and utter corruption.

If you are saying Biden is the same as trump, you are wrong. Investments in clean energy instead of pulling out of all agreements and pushing fossil fuels. Supporting women's rights instead of making abortion illegal. Support for unions instead of tax breaks for the rich. No one is perfect and there is much to be done. But false equivalence is still false
If you are saying there are still too many idiots, I agree.

But the difference isn't big enough. We just sway back and forth. And the political system means nothing radical really ever gets done. The fossil fuel thing is ridiculous. Dig your own coal, drill for your own oil = Bad. Import it in from another country = Good. All part of the net zero con. Makes no sense. Sort of sums up where we are.

The existential crisis of climate change is here and accelerating. I can identify 3 groups on the "this is real" side of the issue. You have the doomers, the stop it an all costs activists, and the optimists, always seeing the possibility of enough technological and behavior change to keep us from the brink. The doomers say "It's over, we blew it, say goodbye." The middle group has its hair on fire, irritating some and encouraging others to fight for the future, and those in the last group are saying yeah but, Deus ex machina, don't worry be happy, or something.
We have to stop using fossil fuel, but we're not. George Carlin was probably right, the planet will shake us off like fleas, it will be fine.
I don't know how anyone with children deals with this. It would make me a hair on fire type.

You deal with it by realising climate change is real and has been happening since the beginning of time. So humans stop bigging yourselves up, mother nature has got this. But we need to act more responsibly and clean our act up by living cleaner and greener. Just to make this place a better, cleaner world to live in. The rest will take care of itself. The UK bragging it produces less than 1% of carbon whilst importing almost everything from China is a joke. And that's why you shouldn't listen to politicians. We rely on fossil fuels and will for a long time yet. So use your own. It's cleaner and cheaper. Not using your own and importing it is just ridiculous. I have two kids and I refuse to be guilt tripped every day by people who insist on controlling us whilst not giving two shits about the environment. And yes I do my bit where I can. But no, I refuse to to be overly concerned whilst scientists and politicians zig zag the world in jets attending the latest climate summit. Whether it's climate or covid they want us to live in a perpetual state of fear. Well I refuse and my kids will be fine.

The average age of those who have died from coronavirus in England and Wales since the start of the pandemic is 82.4 years old.
And at that age with pre existing conditions too.

More and more younger people are having heart problems, and vascular illness after covid. Long covid is life-changing for those unfortunate to be effected by it. Death is not the only metric here.
I really don't care if people want to pretend it's not a thing anymore. Go ahead.

And more and more people are having heart problems, and vascular illness after having the covid vaccinations. Me included. But we don't talk about that, do we?. Many other diseases are life-changing too so we need to keep things in proportion. Our obsession with covid and the constant fear mongering over it has led to a mental health crisis. And our neglect of other illnesses because of covid is a disgrace. You still can't get a face to face appointment with a doctor over here. I'm not denying the relevance of covid but it's now just another health condition on the long list of many others and should be treated as such. I get some people don't want to hear this. There seems to be a strange comfort in not letting go. But that's their choice. Go ahead.
