Yep, that played. I think it's the record companies that region lock their videos I think because they only release to the countries they distribute to.
Doomtree and co. playing in a mix this weekend.
'That ceramic sunset's for you"

Yes Terra, the no French rule is being exercised over here. Finally, someone listens to the mayor.

One of the best bands you never heard of

I read a lot of music reviews where a band is compared to The Pillbugs, but I'm not all that familiar with their music.

They were perennial underdogs from Toledo Ohio. Wrote and produced all their songs. Main figure was Mark Mikel, a very brilliant musician/songwriter. Unfortunately many of my favorite songs are not available on video. Very devoted if small fan base, of which I was one. Thanks to Idea Forum member Barb, I ended up doing the art for the Buzz For Aldrin and Everybody Wants a Way Out CDs. I think you can download their songs, but CDs are difficult to come by.

I can't believe I found this without remembering artist or song title...but this is exactly what I was looking for. I thought it was called "The Party."
All I could remember was the falsetto and the cowbell. "Keep on dancing."

That's the one Robin Thicke and co. ripped off and are paying millions in restitution for.
Lines not blurred enough to win their copyright case.

Kind of a Mazzy Star vibe

This horn sample is simply one of the best samples I've ever heard. Apparently from the middle of the track "Ballad (For my Love) by Eddie Harris Also a very funny generic brag and diss duo rap. Brother Ali is actually a pacifist Muslim so tracks where he talks shit about people and how he is likely to beat someone is a little weird. The guest rapper is Slug from Atmosphere.

Sometimes I ask my Echo/Alexa "Play music like..." and I'll get exactly the mood mix I want. I tried Mazzy Star and it was a complete failure, just gave me any kind of female led 90's rock band... NO! Garbage and Elastica are NOT "like Mazzy Star!"

We may not all know the name of it, but we know how it goes. Robin Thicke probably heard his dad playing this song, sure he owes Marvin Gaye a pile of money. It is a sad twist of fate that Mr. Gaye can't collect it, himself. (RIP long ago.)

I dunno where this came from, maybe thinking of watching Star Soccer on Saturday nights in the late 1970s.
