One of those FM songs that are so burned in your brain, that after not hearing it for over 40 years, it is as if it was yesterday. It was a different time

Bastille "The Weight of Living Parts I & II"
These are meant to be heard in the above order.
We all have bumpy roads and struggles...we have baggage we either feel compelled to carry with us even though it hurts us or we discard that baggage with more ease than may be reasonable to others. I prefer to think of the baggage as challenges...meeting them one step at a time is my plan. Thoughtful song lyrics or lyrics that flat out release emotion and remind me I'm not alone are things that are like reset buttons for me.

Tarred and Feathered - Cardiacs
Tim Smith, RIP. There was someone on a previous XTC forum who was a big Cardiacs fan. Can't remember who. We chatted briefly. I was lucky enough to see them live. Stunning. Is This the Life?

I am not familiar with the band, miles are they from the Bay Area? Help Yourself was from Wales, and were sort of an off shoot group of The Man Band. They could easily pass for a West Coast band, with some country influence mixed with psychedelia. I manged to see The Man Band a couple of times in the mid 70s when they moved to California briefly. They lived in rock star heaven, otherwise known as Marin. Man are compared to The Dead a lot because of their epic jams, which were often more focused than Jerry and the boys. Help Yourself also had some longer instrumental pieces that are quite good.

I actually know nothing about this band, it just played on a random play of "Alexa, play music like RJD2" (RJD2 and Cut Chemist call themselves "turntablist" and there are a few DJ/electronic bands like them- fantastic background music) So, NEW FIND!

Thanks Mare. I post on a phone, on the mobile version of this forum. Which means I can't post vids or pictures or see any of the banners and stuff. Thanks for putting this song up. One of my faves. Cheers
