He spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest he just squandered. So a lot like Maradona. Was he super talented, too?

That's everywhere in America except Alaska, and that state will be burning up before too long. Is Antarctica habitable?

Never trust anything written on Wikipedia. --WikipediaI wouldn't trust that quote, it's unsourced. [citation needed]Wikipedia is a maybe, maybe not situation. Anything anyone in the world can put up or edit is bound to have it's sketchy and 100% true moments. If it isn't supportable by at least three completely independent sources, it may be made up stuff. I learned that in college Reporting. But college can teach you made up stuff sometimes, too, or things that have since been disproven. So much opinion was passed on as fact. Curse you, oral tradition! I am back to where I was as a tiny tot-asking "Why?" a whole lot. "Unless you lived it and think it's a pretty good summary of events." - donavan Amen, donavan .

Wiki is like us. Totally fucked up. Believe it if it fits your agenda or dismiss it otherwise. Everybody wants to rule the world on the Internet. It's very loud and ugly. But porn is the silent winner.

But porn is the silent winner. If your porn is silent, you might consider a different website. There only about a billion of them.

Never in it, could never measure up, and no longer consume. It's an empty emotion.

There are limits to what you can do and dedicated volunteer editors do keep an eye on pages. I've done a small amount of wiki writing and editing. The most high profile stuff I've done has been writing little summaries of the Detroit Tiger's recent seasons. As it is highly visible article about an MLB team there are tons of edits but if you look at the history of the page you can see editors constantly fixing vandalism and removing poorly attributed or non-attributed sections. Then you have those that spend their time reformatting the structure and fixing grammar. Really sensitive articles are completely protected and locked from the public at large from editing. A political figure like Joe Biden would be one. If they didn't limit the contributors you'd have constant vandalism and propaganda for or against written into it. then there's something like a pop culture article. those aren't as protected and can have badly attributed junk in them. Recently Tom Demi shared a line he found in the Wiki Article for Rick Rubin, explaining the name "Def Jam"- his first record label. " The word 'def' in urban culture is slang for a song or musical composition that is well liked for its attractive rhythm and dance appeal." It is stupid nonsense and not just a little racist white-splaining. I looked through the history to investigate. That line had been there for TEN YEARS- or a form of it. It began as a definition of "Jam" not "Def" and both times it was added and changed by an anonymous user. So I edited the hell out of that section. Got rid of the entire sentence and put the entire section into a better context, referencing actual articles. (It wasn't even in the section ABOUT Def Jam, it was in the section about Rubin's second label, American Recordings, which started out as "Def American Recordings"- the section was all about why Rubin removed "Def" from the name. Ironically, it was because a definition of it was included in a dictionary. So yeah, Wikipedia can be a mess and SHOULD NOT be used as a primary source. BUT if you recognize how it works you can figure out what is useful information and use not wikipedia itself, but the sources used as references in the article, as good sources. Then there are my anime pages. I have written my share of character descriptions, those are unsourced and full of spoilers. If you look at the page for the manga/anime MIX, I wrote the plot summary and first draft of every character profile on the page. I use the name Nonsuch Ned there too. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Nonsuch_NedMy new thing is editing pages for a specialized wiki dedicated only to one anime franchise, Tenchi Muyo. I don't know, I find it fun.
