Things are back to increasing exponentially, here in parts of California- Los Angeles County, specifically. My mom is having some strange symptoms and was taken to the hospital yesterday. They tested her for COViD-19, did blood work and sent her home. I spent a lot of time with her yesterday and today. I washed my hands a whole lot and wore a mask. She wore one, too. One day at a time for me. The last three days have seemed monumental. Any results yet? Hope all OK....

Who would have imagined that bad fashion choices (no masks) would lead to the end of Western Civilization? I thought it would be the mullet if anything. Lol. Or yoga pants.

Mom was taken by paramedics again to a local hospital Saturday a.m. The same ER doctor was there from the first visit this week. He apologized for not spotting the stroke the first time, but she wasn't demonstrating facial sagging or having trouble speaking or moving and all tests came back within normal range for mom. I went in to Los Angeles last night, where she was transferred from the local hospital. COVID-19 test was negative. I actually was allowed to go up and see her for a tiny bit of time. She recognized me but seems speech impaired due to a stroke. I hugged her and told her all her children loved her and that I always would. I am grateful for all the support and caring that I am getting from my friends! Thank you very much!

Sending positive thoughts your Mum's way! Thanks, Bimble. She can definitely use them! She had her angioplasty and then a CAT scan. No improvement after the procedure. She is, however, telling her nurse & doctors that she wants to go home. Repeatedly. That sounds like her. She also rolled her eyes at one of her doctors/surgeons. One of my sisters commented that mom has her sense of humor. It must be a family thing. My son's Second grade teacher told me at a parent/teacher conference that I needed to talk to him about his eye rolling, I could barely keep myself from rolling my eyes when she said that. That was the only area for improvement, though.

In my branch of Tesco we have a very dull announcement asking people to follow the one way system and keep distanced. I have come up with a new, vibrant and more memorable alternative. Imagine a childish ditty tune, something like "My Bonny Lies Over The Ocean" or similar, with the following words:
Follow the one way system: Please will you do what we say? Because you don't realise, A baby kitten dies, Every time you don't go the right way...
"A little puppy fries" can also be used. Waddya think, guys?

At first my local Costco did the one way cart traffic, without the announcement. An announcement would have helped me not swim upstream, so announcement a plus. I like the singing rhyme idea. I think if you incorporate a threat of being kicked right out of the store for failure to follow this direction and add a couple rude words so the kids pick it up, parents will remember it for the rest of their born days.

I'm sorry but if we have to sacrifice some baby kittens to get this economy rolling again . . . Um never mind.

Also, is there an adult kitten? No, Intro, there isn't any such thing as an adult kitten, obvs, durr. But " baby kitten" just adds that little extra something, I feel. Can't help with your Dad though. Another employee suggested snipers in the ceiling for the transgressors..... He's my kinda guy!

School here is scheduled to start in late August. I mean, completely. In person. No social distancing, though masks may be encouraged. I hope against hope that it works out well, because it's so hard to get any work done with four kids buzzing around me 16 hours a day. They're also bored stiff and growing more bellicose by the week. Our DG conference called us up in small groups, and that was one of the biggest complaints about working from home. I can only imagine how stressful it must be for those parents with toddlers.
