It's the thought that counts, simpleton. Thanks. Happy winter commuting to you.

Last night there was freezing rain in my little corner of the world. The sidewalk/pavement this morning was treacherous! I fell down twice on my way to work. Once by accident, the second on purpose to navigate a slope in the walkway. After crawling on my hands and knees across the difficult bit, I got up and waved to the cars that were stopped at the traffic light. ======== Speaking of ice, I do hope miles is fairing well after the destructive ice storm that affected Eugene, Oregon a couple of weeks ago.

I get two trains on my way to/from work. The line for one of my train journeys will be out of service until July. With conflicting info about how this part of my journey will be covered it's all a bit of a mess. Not back at work yet because of illness but not looking forward to this commuting nightmare.

I love drivers who blow through stop signs, especially during a snowstorm. Good times had by all.

Donavan, I hope you're healing well. England winters are not fun and then to have to walk or rely on buses is just plain mean.
Introvertigo, the bad weather in my town took a life the other day. Icy roads and blowing snow caused a driver to slide down an embankment and crash into a tree. Be careful!

Getting there peggs, thanks. It's a bummer that the meds which make you better make you ill in another way Snow forecast for the end of the week. Glad I'm off. Take it easy Intro, I hate driving now because of all the pricks on the road. And yes I make many mistakes but if we all drive responsibly we mostly get away with it. But responsible is sadly going out of date. Or it seems that way to me. Maybe I'm just getting an older, oldish miserable git.

My little corner of the world was grazed by an ice storm yesterday/last night. This morning I woke to a temperature just above freezing and a coating of ice on everything (not as bad as other parts of the country over the past couple of weeks).
My three block commute to work this morning was a no-go as I fell down three times in a 25ft stretch of walkway. Jeez! If the temps rise enough to melt the ice I may go in to work yet today; otherwise, forget it!
Be safe everyone!

I mentioned on another site that I saw a dead baby deer on my drive to work a few days, eliciting pity for the deer from another poster. I found out she was from a place where deer sightings are unusual, and I don't think she bought my argument that in many places people think of deer as cute, adorable, living representations of Bambi--instead deer are considered to be tick-infested garden destroyers that routinely run into cars. Deer God, indeed.

Lots of dead raccoons on the highway recently--I am not sad to see them go.

Don't they all. I'm surprised they all fit on.

I telecommute most days, but you'd be surprised what a chore it can be to trudge from one TV set to another.
