I may have to go back to work shortly, this may be a problem because I've become institutionalised and will struggle to get back into it. Truth is I don't want to get back into it and my output is better at home, no commuting. I'd rather support the independent stores in my town than the multinationals in the city. Plus I make two car journeys, and four train journeys on my daily commute. But I will probably be made to return to the office. Which proves we have no real interest in improving the environment. Hey ho!

So you don't want to get back to normal? Honestly I sympathize with you. People should be allowed to work remotely.

Man, that is a heinous commute donavan! I wish I could commute from home, but info is private and must be protected so I can't be carrying it around. I will be in the office and my boss is allowing clients to make appointments and come into the office. It will be a drag and lots of hand washing, mask wearing and anxiety, but I think if anyone is too sick for me to be around, I will excuse myself and leave the office.

"54% of American adults between the ages of 16-74 read below a 6th grade level. So that means we have an epidemic of illiteracy," professor Brittney Cooper reacts to book banning. "If you make people ignorant, then it becomes much easier to control them."
THIS is why they are attacking public schools and banning books.

Don't forget bigotry in it's many flavors and plain old being an asshole. That motivates such willful ignorance and or censoring in some cases too. Oh and God forbid "American Exceptionalism" be questioned or challenged by books illuminating or discussing topics that were quite the opposite of exceptional behavior to be proud of.

Yes, we white people are terribly offended by comments about racial sensitivity. They weren't slaves, they were tourists. And the insurrection was "legitimate political discourse.
Privilege exists whether you recognize it or not.

"We are very focused at the Select Committee on a whole range of potential legislative proposals," Cheney said. I think it's very important, though, for the American people to recognize and understand what we know and what the former president himself is saying about his intentions, what his intentions clearly were a year ago on January 6th, and what he would do again if he ever got anywhere close to power. And that just simply can't be who we are as Americans. It can't be who we are as Republicans."
Liz Cheney (a Republican I disagree with on most topics.)

Privilege exists whether you recognize it or not. Just when you think that Republicans have found every way imaginable to be complete and utter assholes, they come up with shit like this. And their followers will swallow it down, the same as they did with this same insurrection being caused by antifa and having nothing to do with Trumpkins. I don't know how to deal with people who refuse to acknowledge reality.

Privilege exists whether you recognize it or not. This distracts from the real issues of discrimination. She has no reason to appologise. Not helpful and actually harmful to the bigger picture. It trivializes what is abhorrent. And privilege or lack of it exists relatively in most walks of life whether you recognize it or not.
