Long wrought iron stick essentially a bit fatter at the end. You get it red-hot in your fireplace and then jam it into your pitcher containing spices of your choice & traditionally a raw egg and some sort of sweetener be molasses unprocessed sugar of another type or whatever wish. It will stall and bubble like crazy warming it but has the purpose of also caramelizing the sugar changing the flavor and that particular. Of time benefited to sanitize if it were low content beer plus the fact that you have a raw egg in there often. Done right you do not get scrambled eggs. Usually done with a darker malty beer. It changes the flavor it makes for a good warm drink in the winter I'll stick to just opening a can, and pouring it in a glass if I'm feeling posh.

To each their own sir. To be frank I can't be bothered to make do with it often, but have found it provide shared fun when in a rare instance I have the delight of company.

What's everyone up to?
It's been too hot here during the day for me, so I'm making use of this cooler evening to have some marshmallows by the fire pit and listen to music. I'm listening to (for my first time) Iron Butterfly Live at The Filmore East '68. Maybe some Doors or Jim Morrison Paris Poetry tapes later. I like those; I wish there was more audio of that. I dont care for the disco-fied version The Doors officially put out on American Prayer. Feels like a mismatch to me with the lyrical imagery, so I'll stick to the reading tapes.

I was washing the dusty nice glasses that have been on my counter for way too long. I dislike hand washing-if it doesn't go in the dishwasher, then bleep it. I did laundry, too. Completely out of shirts, which is a problem at my age and weight. bluedemon25 toasting marshmallows at a fire pit on a nice evening sounds heavenly! Adding music makes it splendid! Have you heard the Explosions In The Sky album that has spoken word lyrics instead of instrumentals only? That's a pretty good one. Finntrovertigo I have been watching a bit of The Hockey, too. Minus the drinking and drinking, unless you count the water. Thank goodness for TV breaks in the games. donavan TV show Cricket matches (Midsomer Murders versions) give me the headaches of which you speak, mostly because I don't know what these matches are supposed to look like. I love baseball (No, it is not like watching paint dry, thankyouverymuch) and I like The Ice Hockey. Therefore, I conclude I must like Cricket, too. I just need to have somebody talk me through it. Today, I am checking into a couple bands that my ex suggested I listen to...The Dirty Knobs and The High Dials. Through researching The Dirty Knobs (of course I know who Mike Campbell is) I looked for music featuring each of the other band members and discovered VOLTO! The Dirty Knobs bass player is also in Volto! and I think that Mr. Gregory's prog rock fans would like them. Maybe. It has been a nice morning of musical discovery. (I wish people wouldn't label it as Jazz, though. I don't like Jazz. I need drums and bass working together. I think that's why some Zappa makes me nuts. Kind of messy for me.

If you don't like jazz watch out googling the Dirty Knobs. You may end up with Jiz anyway. Is that too much? Cricket is like baseball but faster and they tend to hit the ball most of the time. Whereas your cavemen swingers miss it most of the time. Is that too harsh?

Whereas your cavemen swingers miss it most of the time. Is that too harsh? Ok, thanks. My kids say things and then turn to me "Don't look that up on Urban Dictionary!" So, I don't. I would say that is a fair comparison, donavan. However, part of the point of pitching to to force the batter (trick the batter, fool the batter, etc.) into swinging at a ball that is out of the strike zone...which was supposed to be between the knees and shoulders of the batter, so it varies a little. Depending on the Umpire behind the plate, the strike zone changes depending on which team is up at bat...not really fair. (My daughter recently sent me a picture of all the pitches in one game of her "Babies" (The Angels) vs. I forget, maybe Oakland A's which was color coded red and green by how they were called (strike/ball) with a strike zone drawn around them and tagged the Official Umpire's on Twitter. She loves baseball and fairness just as much as I do. She even calls me out on my shit. I'm glad of that.

I like the lunchtime games in New York with no one watching in the stadium (pre Covid). I with the fans on that one.

Day games are fun...not so crowded but sunburn and sweat are involved.
Only problem is a Double Header, with a second game following the day game. That approaches too much baseball at my age and seating area ticket price.

That approaches too much baseball at my age and seating area ticket price. I went to a few games as a kid. Never got much into it. I always felt the cooler chest of sandwiches and bag of peanuts, and the good company of my grandparents was more my thing. Perhaps the games I saw were too tame/ not enough hitting to catch my interest enough. I think also the frequent enough team member flux between seasons making who I watched less familiar had something ti do with it too.

T H E Dirty Knobs. EX just called them Dirty Knobs. Music...just music. Although the lyrics were in some cases rock and roll-ish.
