Satire, but oh so close.
SAN FRANCISCO (The Borowitz Report)—In an abrupt about-face that has rocked the tech world, Elon Musk has decided to sell Twitter after it failed to make him interesting.
Speaking to reporters, Musk said he was “disappointed” that his purchase of Twitter had done nothing to change the public’s perception of him as a tedious attention hog.
“I really thought that owning Twitter would transform my image as a black hole of neediness,” he said. “Instead, it made me look desperate. And not in an interesting way.”

"Uninterestingly desperate"
I cannot find words which describe how much I am enamored with this descriptive verb/adverb combo.

Don’t underestimate the value of doing nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering.

Marriage is like an unfunny, tense version of Everybody Loves Raymond, but it doesn’t last 22 minutes. It lasts forever.

Marriage is like an unfunny, tense version of Everybody Loves Raymond, but it doesn’t last 22 minutes. It lasts forever. At least our parents aren't in the show, being dead and all. Although I wouldn't mind Peter Boyle as a father in law. Unfortunately he is no longer available.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

This is a little long but nicely done: To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness. What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something. If we remember those times and places - and there are so many - where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a word in a different direction. And if we act, in however small a way, we don't have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live how we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory. Howard Zinn
