I like carrots for their crunch and sweetness, but I can only eat them raw. Cooked carrots make me do this-- What is your least favorite vegetable?

The older I get the more I think it was better in the past, when it's most likely just misty romanticism.
In my youth I didn't see or hear about all the crap that goes on every second of every day, day after day, ad nauseam (maybe cable TV wasn't such a good idea after all).
Ageing has a wonderful way of softening the hard edges of memory.
Do you have a mentor and/or are you a mentor?

"Don't listen to advice". I didn't, so I listened, so I didn't, etc. No, it was that, by the time you get to "a certain age", you know your stuff and should have the confidence to have an opinion and stick to it, despite what others may appear to know (better). "We know this shit" was the phrase.
As you get older do you feel that you are more able to use your past as a resource - either a "source of wisdom" or a fund of experience and memory that you can draw comfort from?

In some ways yes. But the world seems to have changed so dramatically that so much experince is not longer relevant. I mean the Dewie system for logging books in libraries. the issues my children face - online bullying say - I have no experince of ( apartr from friggin zoro). I do have more confidnce though and that helps
Are you good at keeping secrets and does that make people confide in you more

Yes. Tell me what " (apartr from friggin zoro)." means. I won't tell a soul.
Do you think you've moved house for the last time, aside from rest home or hospice? Do you see another move in your future?

Right now I'm happy where I am, London a train ride away, countryside on the doorstep, plenty of pubs, restaurants, a theatre, a cinema. In my dotage I'd like to be in Cornwall by the sea somewhere. I'm not lusting after exotica.
If you have a partner what would they say is your best quality?

I asked Mr. Sooz and his answer is that I'm a very good friend. He said several things but he thought this was the least 'hokey' sounding. ******* I'll ask the opposite ..... So what would your partner say is your worst quality?

Swearing too much when things go wrong. DIY is usually involved.
Who is in charge of your household finances?

Me for sure. I keep spreadsheets and am more than a little anal about it. I ask my wife how much is in her account and she doesn't have a clue. Oh well we all play to our strengths.
Sorry for the old chestnut but, while on the subject of money, what would you do with your £50 million lottery win?

Pay off my debt. Pay off my folk's mortgage. Give X amount of money to family members and friends (if they wanted it). Establish an endowment at my alma mater for non-traditional (read: older) art students to attend graduate school in another country. Donate to local organizations that are involved with agricultural and environmental issues. Invest wisely enough to use interest $$ to supplement a part time job income. Like the saying goes; Money is like manure. You have to spread it around to encourage young things to grow. Oh, and I guess 'buy a car' is in there somewhere. -------------------------- What was the name of your best friend when you were 10 years old? Are you still in touch with that person?

Ste. We are no longer in touch. But we see each other on the train now and again but we don't let on to each other. I'd like to but it's gone on for too long now. I feel it's the same for him. I guess neither of us care enough. Or can be bothered enough. Shame really.
Is Easter just time off work or do you do anything special?

We have young children, so there's all that. It's pretty fun.
Any wish to rekindle old friendships, or are you satisfied with all those choices?
