Marks out of 10 for Cavegirl? I've not got it.

depending on your scale For a scale of music in general, 8/10 For an Andy Demo 6/10 as a pastiche of 60's/70's it rates in the middle, 7/10
It's silly, it's got "Hooked on a Feeling" type OOGAs in it. more like,"OOGH- OOH AH! AH!, OOGH- OOH AH! AH!" the vocals are a bit tamer style of the affected vocals Andy used on Visit to the Doctor. Not near as innuendo filled as his other Bubblegum songs and definitely a toe-tapper. I get the feeling it's the type of tune he could have given The Monkees for Good Times with the caveat it would be a sillier song.
Don't expect a long last treasure, but if you put it on you'll likely be humming along after a couple listens.

Ok that was a bit harsh and a bit tongue in cheek. But I'm a little afraid to listen because new-ish (for me at least) stuff by Andy doesn't really grab me. Like The Monkees thing. Was that a success, did it chart?

This would be around 25 years old. The project they offered Virgin before going on strike.

I know. That's why I said new to me. If I haven't heard it before it's a new song for me regardless of it's date of birth.

Good Times seems to have done about as well as could be expected. The Monkees still have a dedicated fan base that crosses many generations. I went out with a girl for awhile that told me that when she was a kid (would have been the late 80's) she canvassed her town to get signatures to get her local TV station to put the TV series back on when they took it off syndication- and they succeeded.
According to Wiki, peaked at... UK Albums (OCC) #29 US Billboard #14 US Billboard Vinyl Albums #1
But whatever. As I said- it's not a lost masterpiece so much as misplaced and probably mislabeled. In Fuzzy Warbles Andy says Cherry In Your Tree, Candymine, and Visit to the Doctor were the only ones he had. Apparently he since discovered this one too. There are certainly worse on FW.

Thanks for the info Ned. And it's a free download so I guess it's win win regardless of it's quality. And pretty decent chart positions for Good Times.

IIRC he mentioned on the since past Twitter looking at notebooks with content related to the bubblegum pop album. I'm hoping it means he does have them if nothing else at least the compositions if not recordings, and could finish it up and release so should he choose. I would be super psyched if he did.
