I do think in movie cliches. It is getting to the point in our disaster movie, where our huddled protagonists (surrounded wagon train, pined down combat troops, household barricaded against the zombie onslaught etc) are getting testy. There is always a weak link, an individual who cracks and decides to face the menace directly, instead of remaining in relative safety. With crazed expression, they rush out the door, out of the trenches, or past the circled wagons. I am seeing this now, frustration and irrational behavior, isolation fatigue. In the movies they usually last about 30 seconds. In real life 3 to 4 weeks.
In our movie the squirrely guy is the president.
