Oh my God Sleepy Joe just said it's unpatriotic to not be vaccinated. In God is our trust? I think he should get a test with all his coughing and spluttering. He touched on vaccinated people still catching it and passing it on then went on to vilify the unvaccinated. I agree with vaccination or testing. In fact testing is better. If you get tested to enter work and test negative it's better than someone triple jabbed who could have it and not know it. And now he's walked off because the questions got too tough. But not before having a mini meltdown which was a bit scary. Happy Holidays. ⛄

Think of it this way, donavan...if you were in a position of great power and EVERY FREAKING WORD YOU SAY is dissected and twisted and turned, your very breathing is noted and also analyzed, wouldn't you take pause to censor out what would cause hysteria, world leaders to disregard your interest in maintaining peaceful relationships and your constituents (all United States citizens) losing confidence in you as leader and also avoiding the accidental slip up of divulging highly confidential information to both friends and enemies? Well, wouldn't you pause? I sure the bleep would. Some of us have racing minds. Being slow to speak doesn't mean you are asleep. It can mean your brain is firing off multiple scenarios, speedily reviewing old and new information as to what you can and cannot make available to the general public when the world is listening to you. Likewise, President Biden may have an earpiece (not a hairpiece) through which he is receiving information regarding safety. He has a mind full of things he is currently considering-Cognitive Therapy tells us we have no control over what pops into our minds, we can only control what we do about those thoughts. As a leader with a myriad of considerations on blast all day long in my brain, I would surely lose patience with a bunch of media representatives who all ask the very same question (each in a different way, but still the same question) over and over or even repeat the questions from yesterday. I would have more important things to do for the benefit of my people and my country. Yes, we have the right to know. A leader has the right to not waste his or her time with piddly little stuff that he already gave his best answer on.

"The U.S. economy is expanding at a 7% rate over the last three months, up by 5% from the beginning of the year. That number isn’t just three times the expected growth rate in Europe, it almost doubles the rate of growth in China. As reported in The Wall Street Journal, the U.S. economy is genuinely a world-beater. It’s doing so well that for the first time in years, “The force of the American expansion is also inducing overseas companies to invest in the U.S., betting that the growth is still accelerating and will outpace other major economies.”
Less than two months into his presidency, Biden pushed through the American Rescue Plan. That plan provided emergency payments to every American, an increase in the Child Tax Credit, extended unemployment payments for those nearing the end of their benefits, lowered the cost of health care subsidies, picked up 100% of COBRA costs, and offered a host of benefits for small businesses that included outright grants. It took the better part of a year to get the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act through Congress, but by that point the economy—bolstered by Biden’s policies, a renewed confidence from business leaders, and a robust rollout of vaccines against COVID-19—had cut unemployment numbers by a full 2%.
Rolling into the holiday season, America is enjoying record low levels of unemployment and levels of economic growth that exceed the wildest unfulfilled promises of Donald Trump. But at the same time, CNN reports that President Biden’s approval levels for handling the economy are at record lows. The best economy in 50 years enjoys just a 44% approval rating.
Because a disaster-addicted media will find disaster, even if it has to create it."
So the reality doesn't fit the "Biden is a loser" scenario that Don is hooked on.

I'm not hooked on anything. And you can twist stats any way you wish to. Trump did the same. I have no drum to bang because I have no party to follow. Nobody represents what I think. I made allowances in the past for the party I once followed and believed the stats they spun. I don't anymore. That frees you up to be more open to what's really going on. As for presentation Biden and Trump are/were both terrible but in different ways. Also being able to come over professionally and public speak and handle the pressure is part of the job. Obama was excellent at it. So was Blair until he went mad. I've no agenda I just say what I see and don't have an allegiance to a party. When I see Biden at an international conference he's usually fast asleep sat next to Boris who is also deep in sleep. Masks on for the cameras and off when they think nobody's looking. What a bunch of characters. All of them.

When I see Biden at an international conference he's usually fast asleep sat next to Boris who is also deep in sleep. Masks on for the cameras and off when they think nobody's looking. What a bunch of characters. All of them. When taken at face value, statistics are a sham. Public speaking is, in my opinion, is founded in intellect and charisma. However, even the intelligent and charismatic can make bad decisions. I'd rather have Biden, who like me, made mistakes but he seems to go forward having learned from those mistakes. That is what I work at doing. I trust that. I don't want to be the same idiot I have been in the past and I admire those with that approach. It gives me courage to speak my truth and be open to information that I am not aware of from others. If you "see Biden at an international conference he's usually fast asleep sat next to Boris who is also deep in sleep." it is because someone with editorial privilege wants you to see that. This is pervasive in society, today, and a lot of it is subtle not in your face Tabloid bias. For instance, C-SPAN, the cable channels that broadcast what is happening in Congress and the Senate-well I thought that was a good way to learn about what is going on rather than watching the news. Nope. Republican concerns are shown in greater proportion than Democratic concerns. How can that be equal time? Coverage of candidates is Federally mandated to be following the "Equal Time" rule governed by the FCC. Equal Time means equal viewers, not on in the middle of the night as opposed to prime time and depending on the political bias of a station or paper. The Interweb is an untamed, ungoverned and easily bought/manipulated area. The audience access is incalculable. Do we see compromised data, photoshopped images, random quotes put with images they don't go with? Hell yes! Everything out there right now is a big snarl of spaghetti like information-some is true, much is not. If you can check this book out of an online library, I suggest you do...it is old and probably has dated material, but I learned a lot from it. (There is another similarly titled book.) Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics by Michael Wheeler is what I read. I cannot speak about the other book, not having read it.

All I'm saying is we are more forgiving to a political party we follow. For example in a different field, AP could be a right pain in the arse sometimes (can't we all) but some people never acknowledged that because of their love of XTC. We tend to get blinded because of our likes and preferences. And if the leader of my country is telling me what to do then falling to sleep at a conference about it then yes I want to see that on TV. Yeah, it's not a level playing field and never will be. And because of that whether we like it or not presentation and image is a massive part of politics and outcomes. Mare, I've never understood the phrase, 'Speak my truth.' How many versions of the truth are there? And I guess that sums up where we are at.

I agree, we have plenty of bias built right into ourselves...our likes we may forgive more quickly and our dislikes we may want to look down upon at every chance. Of course, that is part of that scaly, oft inconsistent human nature we are stuck with.
As far as speaking my truth, the phrase/saying...that means I am not merely barfing back something I have heard from some almighty source...Usually it comes from my intuition combined with research of as many sides to a story as I have reviewed from different sources and that I understand as what I think is true. I stand behind that position, and it is "where I'm coming from" when I make related statements. I wouldn't say it is my final word, as I am open to new information. I believe it whole heartedly at the point where I'm saying I am speaking my truth. I kind of verbally put my hand over my heart. It comes from the very depths of my being.
Maybe it should be followed more often with a challenge to "Prove me wrong."
I am grateful that you got to the "All I am saying is" nutshell. With that, I do concur.

My truth is for me an opinion. That should not be mixed up with the truth. The truth has been abused and diluted. I was sort of thinking that was what you and miles were talking about. Without the truth we are fucked.

Oh, ok.
Let me rephrase it, in that case...
My truth is what I think is closest to the actual truth that I can figure with the limited and non Higher Power-like ability to see past, present and future in all entirety.
You can call that my opinion, if you wish. I would say it is an intentionally formed opinion based on all the facts as are known to me and based on a feeling in my bones.
That internal feeling has to be part of it.
I wonder if that means I would die for it.
It could just be me MSUing. (Making Stuff Up)

Sometimes it's better to say we don't know what the truth is, better if we all agreed on that and put our fists down. Less friction, less wars. More thinking time. Imagine all the people....

I'm not fighting, I don't stand a chance in a fight. I'd rather say no one knows for sure. We're going to sit tight and wait it out together. And if I do pass due to this virus, I will be really happy to be at a sing along with Mr. John Lennon. I liked what he had to say.

See how this virus thing has fucked us up. You are more likely to die from falling off a ladder. Now tell me the last time you went up a ladder? Exactly. Project fear. Be careful but stop being controlled. x
