My "My Soundtrack" on Amazon was great for a while... repetitive, but classic soul, funk, R&B mixed with just the right progressive hip-hop, and good alternative to season... but I listened to some other stuff. Decided to try A Perfect Circle- which skewed in some crappy hard rock into my mix... and then I went and listened to some Iron & Wine to chill out... but the bands that it thinks an I&W fan often bores me... Bon Iver... Father John Misty... Fleet Foxes... Nothing horrible but they flood me with it all.
So, trying to get some soul back in my mix. James Brown... honestly can get a little old A Station called "Funky Soul Classics"... funky soul cliches... and oddly focused on 70's/80's, white sould ("Play That Funky Music"... of course), I let it play through "You Can Call Me Al"... but that was all I could take. ...Just found a Station based on The Meters... this should work.
Let that go for an hour, maybe switch some Bill Withers for a bit. Then a De La Soul Mix to get the right hip hop in again.
... I just can't take them trying to get me to listen to Mumford and Sons again.

I'm listening to Peter Gabriel because Mrs Dr H and I went to see him a couple of weeks ago. During his performance of Sledgehammer he did a dance that looked strangely familiar. I suddenly realised that he was doing the routine that the stop-motion chickens do on the video. Perhaps the best moment of the show, though there were many others.

That video reminds me of the Funk Pop A Roll vid.

One more time. Makes me feel small, insignificant even. We may have a thread for that sort of thing. But it's late. We may have a thread to say goodnight. We had one on Idea. I created that too. Goodnight chickens x

I searched Amazon Music for and played "Start Wearing Purple" and left it to auto play after. The algorithm is having trouble matching Gogol Bordello, but the results are wonderfully eclectic.
Most I don't know, but I was happy to be reminded of this banger

SiriusXM's Xtra channel: Tom Morello's Worldwide Rebel Radio
I've mentioned him a few times recently, but actually I'm no gigantic fan of Tom Morrello. He's talented, I like RATM, but I definitely don't follow everything he does.
But he is a vocal Social Justice Warrior in the best sense of the term- which I just can't understand the vilification of. And I appreciate him for that. So, he sponsors this Xtra channel. This channel is not very metal/hard rock oriented, it's an issues-oriented station, full of folk and punk and other rabble-rowsers. So it'll go from Dylan to Joe Strummer to Kris Kristofferson to Gogol Bordello to Nina Simone to Donovan, etc. 90% acoustic.

I was going to wait until after I was done checking out the forum to press play, but XTC's pull is too great. Nonsuch is metaphorically spinning at the moment.
