Nonsuch Ned had me thinking about cassettes and early CDs I had...this one came to mind immediately. So I played it.

How'd I know they were going to do that shuffle dance thing?

No, it worked. If this comes through as as a link, it should be Man/Miracle Day Glo from The Shape Of Things album. I saw them as one of the opening acts for Rogue Wave when I went to a Belly Up club in Solana Beach with my daughter about 10-12 years ago. So long ago, that back then I sent them a note on MySpace and found out they counted XTC among their influences. Lucky for me, I bought this as a merch CD. Every now and then, I revel in the album. Like Right Now. Awesome-it came out as a link to the whole album. Not much out there by them, but my kind of music.

I can't remember if Mr Tein told us about this band, or not but I think so. I picked up this CD (used) and like it for it's Q-ness.

This morning, I played at being my own sous chef...washing, slicing, cutting up and storing veggies and fruit I bought yesterday. Of course I needed music, so I propped my cell phone on the toaster oven and decided to listen to: "I'm The Man Who Murdered Love"-CD single Upsy Daisy Assortment and Oranges And Lemons (missing out the songs on Upsy Daisy, excepting "The Mayor Of Simpleton" which is my favorite-can't hear it enough!) I did a good bit of dancing around and shaking my booty, but I got a lot of aforementioned washage and choppage done. That was a win-win situation for me! Now, I have stuff at the ready that normally makes me reach for the Lowest Work Denominator for mealtime because I have waited until I am starving and don't want to wait any longer. ("Aggh!" says Mare, as she tries to rip open some impenetrable plastic bag from the freezer. Scissors don't work on those things, either.) What a happy time that was! I also thought about how I'd really never thought about what a great drummer Terry Chambers is. Enjoying the music today, I was paying attention to Mr. Chambers a lot. Thank you Mr. Chambers and all the drummers that have been a big part of the XTC sound.

Yep, Terry live was unbelievable. But ExTC from what I've seen so far are far from it.

Do you mean XTC drummers after TC or ?

No, I mean TC's tribute band to XTC. You'll find them on YouTube. They have AP's blessing but it's.....well you decide.

I like Stephin's stuff because I can produce a similar deep baritone. I've really taken to singing his "Book of Love" - which Peter Gabriel has notably covered, but IMO doesn't hold a candle to the original.
