Ok, I moved my Editorial piece over here...more fitting thread. (I didn't change anything, just left the Trump bit out.)
Let me preface this post by saying that I am not pro-abortion, I am pro-the right of a woman to make her own choice. Abortion is not a form birth control, however. I think birth control and saying no and being heard are the answers to this in most cases.
I wonder if the Republicans ever considered the fact that more births will equal more people on Public Assistance/Welfare. They already have issues paying for that.
Jimminy Christmas.
I have the feeling that there are Republican males who have paid for abortions and I have an inkling that Trump may be one of them.
Quoted from an article by NBC News Journalist Daniel Arkin dated June 24, 2022 8:59 am PDT, regarding Speaker Of The House Of Representatives Nancy Pelosi's news conference today:
"Pelosi appeared to refer to Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh who, during their confirmation hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee, said they believed the landmark ruling that guaranteed abortion access across the country was 'precedent.' Gorsuch and Kavanaugh joined their fellow conservative justices in upholding a Mississippi law that banned most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy and overturning Roe."
Arkin quoted Pelosi as saying " 'How about those justices coming before the senators and saying that they respected stare decisis, the precedent of the court, that they respected the privacy in the Constitution of the United States," Pelosi said at a news conference Friday. 'Did you hear that? Were they not telling the truth, then?' " in reference to the Supreme Court Judicial Nomination hearings of Gorsuch and Kavanaugh.
Alright Republicans...but watch out, this will kick you in the ass. Let's repeal the Second Amendment, if we're going to go backwards...we don't need guns. We don't need booze, either. And who needs the right to privacy? Let's just sneak around in the back alleys buying guns, booze and having abortions.
Mare sarcasm: Let's just fix the Amendments all, why don't we?
Let's go backwards. I hate hindsight being 20/20.
Now I have to go pay my bills and be a responsible citizen with what seems to be an ever reducing voice in the country.
Mareditorial out
Postscript...what I used to spend at the grocery store used to be more, but I bought a lot of crap and treats along with healthy food. Now that I am eating better, I am spending less money and throwing away less produce. That worked out.
