edited to shift the nature of the paradigm
Think of a paradigm shift as a change from one way of thinking to another. What event(s) in your lifetime do you believe has caused the most wide-spread change in global consciousness? What is happening in your reality today that you think may bring about a new way of thinking in the future?

Sadly, the election of an orange-toupeed baboon who let his worshipers know that racism is okey dokey.

Climate change is about to reach a tipping point. When major coastal cities start becoming real-life Atlantises and desertification starves billions, our grandchildren won't be looking at us with much fondness.

Apparently, juice boxes are the greatest invention in the history of mankind and womankind. Who knew?

This is going back, but the emergence of herpes as a sexually transmitted disease. This is sometime in the mid 70s, and while STDs were common, all of then were treatable, with a visit to the clinic. For the first time, a sexual encounter could give you an incurable (but manageable) condition for life. Of course, 5 or 6 years later there was the HIV epidemic, which made herpes seem quaint.

When NBA star Rudy Gobert tested positive for covid, and everything shut down almost instantly. Either that, or New Coke.

What is happening in your reality today that you think may bring about a new way of thinking in the future? WTF?! Seven years later I don't recall having any prescient feelings about the impending shit show that Introvertigo referenced (not the deconstruction of denim or new Coke).

I think we have to include space travel. Looking at Earth from space was a real shift. To the moon Alice. I am actively encouraging Elon Musk to go directly to Mars and make himself useful. You know, grow some spindly carrots or something.

Crystal Pep! Who needs to dye their food and beverages, anyway! I liked Crystal Pep!
For me, the Paradigm Shifted when I went to a State University...no more one sided Catholic School point of view.
Looking forward from today, I sincerely want people to stop with the mega high priority of extracting fossil fuels from the planet. We can live without it. Not worth fighting over, especially on a global scale. The things humans went too far on, I think, we should take a step back to the way we were doing things before-back to small farming, using yards for growing food, not just to look pretty. We have placed too high a value on recreation and not enough focus on taking care of our own needs. Back off on the commuting and spend the energy on self sufficiency.
Since it takes a TV or Media High Profile Innovator to motivate the masses, one/many of those folks need to start Tik-Tok-ing growing food in their yard or on their balcony or in a tiny greenhouse/hydroponic garden on their kitchen counter. (No time lapsing, people, you are already too dependent on instant gratification.)
Otherwise, the process of educating those studying in higher education is going to take way too long to get the message out to those on the level where the largest amount of people can REALLY make a difference.
I dunno-maybe Snoop Dog is free between his beer commercials and some of his Martha Stewart phase has rubbed off on him. (Growing pot is not what I'm thinking of him concentrating on, it will have to be something healthy and edible for all. I bet he did have a conversation with her about growing pot and cooking stuff with it as an ingredient, though. Mmm hmm.)
