So if both teams get no goals it goes in the books as 0-0 and nobody gets a point? I thought that was going to happen yesterday morning!
Yesterday morning I saw a bit of a Rugby game on the TV Saturday. For the first time, I saw a closer camera shot of the player pile when the ball was jettisoned toward the pile. The person with the ball bowled it under the pile! I have seen the ball tossed on top, but this made things interesting!

United today played negative football with naive tactics and thoroughly deserved to lose.

United today played negative football with naive tactics and thoroughly deserved to lose. Not been in this thread for a very long time. United play this evening and I expect the quoted description above will apply once again.

I'm thoroughly enjoying Brighton's Europa League adventure. I was at the last home match vs Marseille in December, where Joao Pedro secured us top spot in our group with a brilliant, last-minute winning goal. Not bad for first-timers, especially with half our starting XI out with injuries since October. I've already got my ticket for the round of 16 home leg tie on March 14 -- front row, right behind the technical area. UTA!

The Europa League competition is known as the Emmerdale Cup over here. This is because games are played on a Thursday, the same day Emmerdale is on TV, a British soap. Formally known as Emmerdale Farm, it's set in Yorkshire in a village that has seen more action than Brighton FC ever will.

I was there for the 6 - 0 drubbing of Wolves, last season. I can only imagine how difficult it will be for the Gulls to win without their hermaphroditic talisman in the stands. (I'd imagined Mancs all called la Coupe UEFA the Big Vase. )
