Previously unreleased Billy Idol put out for the 40th of Rebel yell. Very funky which is interesting. Pretty good.

This is, again, not exactly a song I really "like" - it's listenable, but I share it more because I find it an interesting inevitible artifact of our current music scene. The first time I head it on SiriusXMU (Indie/College rock station) it was introduced as following a trend that is "really popular" now. That trend? Imitating 90's pop. And like that 80's goth pastiche band I shared a few months ago, this REALLY runs with their theme. It practically sounds like an AI wrote it from prompts about Natalie Imbruligia, Lisa Loeb, Clearisil commercials, and some English jangle pop. And, of course, it makes sense, styles get recycled, the 20 year nostalgia train runs on. What was contemporary becomes vintage and something to copy...

As mentioned elsewhere, Albini was a huge musical influence on my friend DJ, "Noise Rock God of MKE" -- He says one of his greatest concert moments was having Steve stop this song mid way through to tell DJ to stop singing along. After the show (an intimate gig like this), DJ was able to go up to him and apologize and Steve said "no, no, I was being an asshole"

Just an Albini produced one, but this band is tragic. If the lead singer hadn't died tragically in a car wreck (possible carbon monoxide poisoning from his shitty car) right as this album was ready to go, it is possible they would have become giant- such a unique sound.

One from The Nines where Steve Eggers was definitely channeling Andy.

Shared before, but I just happened to hear it again. And, coincidentally, I heard a"Kodokushi" reference in an anime last week (Astro Note)- although it was clumsy. An elderly man did fall, and wasn't immediately found, but, while he did ultimately die, he was found before dying, and even lived in a communal house/apartment.
