As if one gig wasn't enough, Fossil Fools are playing two, one at the London Water Rats on Saturday 29th October, then returning to XTC's home in Swindon on Friday 25th November!
On the 20th anniversary of the first X-sTatiC show at the Hope and Anchor in London. After a couple of years of rehearsals, it was a surprise and a pleasure when we packed the place.
Over the following two decades, whether as X-sTatiC, Fuzzy Warblers, or since 2010 as the Fossil Fools, we’ve had much fun bringing the songs of XTC into the live arena.
Some songs have worked brilliantly, some less so. Some gigs we were tight as a drum, sometimes it got a little flaky in places. But every time, we’ve shared the company of folks who share our love for XTC and most have gone away stupidly happy.
Nobody was more pleased than us that Tin Spirits, TC&I and now EXTC have given us the chance to see our heroes perform XTC songs live, and now to take the songs out around the UK and beyond. We’ve been to lots of those shows and enjoyed singing along. We’re fans.
So, does the UK really need two XTC tribute bands? We thought we’d give it just one more turn around the block. Mindful that EXTC are covering the hits and a generous dollop of Colin songs, we’ll be keeping duplication to a minimum (maybe 5/6 songs).
As is our way, we’ll be stretching into some areas we’ve not done before, or at best dipped a toe.

If you fancy one of these (possibly final) nights in a sweaty pub back room, dancing like nobody is watching and singing like nobody is listening, tickets are now on sale.
