I haven't been in the madness, but I have seen debris fields and many, many empty shelves where water and canned goods have been. The Target's CVS run pharmacy area was CLEANED OUT about a week ago. No allergy, cold or tummy ache medicine-no head/body pain meds. Bandaids were mostly gone. Toilet paper and paper towels are MIA so you are sh1t out of luck if you are running low. Fresh bread products are a few crumbs of gluten in a barren aisle.
Like going to a drive thru to get food isn't going to expose you to possible viral-ized teen and young adult co-minglers? They are breathing on the food you are about to consume!
My OCD is not making me nuts...I am comfortable with my hand washing for 30 seconds as I have been doing it already since the early 90s. If I get CoVID-19, I get it. There is almost nothing I can do to prevent it. FINALLY people are learning what -increases exponentially- means. I was so afraid of germs in the late 80s that I get what people are doing, how they are feeling. It is completely understandable to me. They don't know what to do and are spinning in their own heads about it. So, they compulsively try to gather foodstuffs and paper products to last them the forever they think they will be living. HA! Fat chance of that!
Too late to lock the barn door-the cow is long gone!
This is why I was so depressed for a week after Trump won the Presidential election. The virus (and he can't say the word "disease) will "disappear like magic"? He said other bananas stuff, too. Sheesh. I didn't want to be right about this guy. Sigh.
Anyway, keep your noses clean, my friends...you are all in my thoughts!

"Too late to lock the barn door-the cow is long gone!" Would that be the mad cow?

I made a run on Wednesday for more groceries, art supplies, and cat food (not for us) and few other things. Today half the places I went to are closed.

I am in an awkward position. My best friend's mom died, and now I am faced with going to a funeral where her friends are all in the age group most susceptible to dying from COVID19. I may just go to the visitation beforehand and try to leave without being exposed to too many people, just in case I am infected. Then I would have to avoid spreading any illness to my friend so he doesn't pass the disease on. Dear Dog.

I'm also struggling to find wipes, disinfectant and paracetamol. I'm self-employed and live a virtually hand to mouth existentce and struggle to pay the rent, so god knows what I'd do if I caught this virus and couldn't work.

I'm sorry to hear that, Chris. I hope the government starts paying you some unemployment insurance very soon.
This $h!t's real, now. It's good to see all of us here taking the necessary precautions for staying safe and keeping others safe, as well.
My four kids just learned that they won't have any school until May at the earliest. They are angsty about growing bored and maybe having the government holding them back one year. If the government decides that parents and children must follow online courses, it will be exhausting. I don't have four computers or tablets to hand out, and I need mine for teleworking. I'm also the vector for contamination, as I'm the only one able to go out and get us provisions. If I fall ill and am hospitalized, who will take care of my children? This is the insomnia-inducing dilemma all single parents are facing.

Just watched the news about the situation in Italy. All of a sudden this has taken on a whole new definition. I've been doing all the right things, mostly, and have not been too concerned. Now however I need to up my g@me and outlook. Hope you all get through ok. Sharing concerns on here and some on going silliness may help too. Good luck and health. x

Have they changed their hours or are they kaput? PS Oh, how I've missed youse people! Several are closed for the time being, voluntarily. It is a good thing to shut the place down for a couple weeks, it is my usual practice to be isolated, but Chrisb and so many others need major support now. The uncertainty is causing major mental health issues, 2 weeks, 2 months, what will it be, how long will need to hold out?

Terra, now the infrequent trips out are like commando raids. Get in, get out, disinfect. My wife stays at home.
With 4 kids I empathize, that much harder and stressful, oh yeah and do your job too. Please stay safe and sane.
