Is he the original beta male?
American media is so wonderful. You have faux TV blaming Markle for his death (he was in perfect health until that interview), and USA Today has a list of his most offensive statements. We need Youie to give us his take.

He was merely a man. A very privileged one.

Harking back to December... Harold Budd produced so much beautiful music... This was released just a few days before he died.. I think he & Robin Guthrie had been saving it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRrCwcN8Uk0

I was just watching NHK news and there was a story regarding the passing of Japanese Composer Koichi Sugiyama at the end of September, this year. I have heard of Dragon Quest, but I wasn't familiar with the music he wrote for it. The story included video of the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra performing music from Dragon Quest. I checked out Sugiyama on wikipedia and from that I took away that he was also a TV director and over the years has been outspoken regarding controversial topics including anti Japanese sentiment in Japan. As my son has always been big on holding his tape recorder to the TV speaker to capture video game music and that I love soundtracks and scores, I checked out a tiny sample of Sugiyama's work...I am sure some of you (I'm guessing Nonsuch Ned and anothersatellite, who I always think of in this macabre time of year in this group) may know more about the talents and catalog of this composer.

Well in that case, I highly reccomend your son and/or you id interested checj out the following website with an enormous amount of clasic video game music both the offical tracks to dowbload and its main purpose remixes people make of them. Some are amazing at least to my taste. Nearly all is free to download. I love this remix of a Mega Man track ocremix.org/remix/OCR02500

Sad to hear that. I just recently replayed Dragon Quest 1-5, and always enjoyed the soundtracks to these games.

It runs contrary to most anime fans, but I'm not a gamer at all, so I guess this doesn't affect me much. Less so when I read of his politics. So many wonderful artists die young in Japan thanks largely to a culture of smoking and drinking, he did well to get to 90.
I sometimes watch Youtube videos of this one vinyl collector (now becoming a record store owner/operator - I believe in Portland) who loves buying gaming soundtracks on vinyl. Apparently there's actually a somewhat healthy (quality) bootleg market for gaming soundtracks.
