I have 27 red dots of itchiness on my shins calves and a couple on each thigh. I am working at thinking them into insignificance due to the fact that yesterday, news reports have mosquitos with some direction (East/West) of Nile Virus in two places, the next county over. I keep a supply of Benadryl Cream on hand for such things, because, well, mosquitos may be my biggest fans.

I bought a pair of shoes. I had worn the last pair a year and a half. The new ones feel funny.

I used to eat Thai peppers like candy. Now nearly anything spicy gives me the runs.
Right thread?

I bought a pair of shoes. I had worn the last pair a year and a half. The new ones feel funny. I've just bought my eldest daughter a pair of work shoes. Her fast-food joint requires non-skid footwear. It's her first paying job, and she starts tomorrow -- two days after her sweet 16. That's two down, and two to go! At this point, they can start buying some clothes of their own, headphones, tablets, etc. My savings go into my retirement fund.

My civil service pension and universal national pensions will be enough to live on, but if I want to have fun -- go to shows, travel abroad, buy cars, give nice presents to loved ones, eat out and fancy, etc. -- I've got to sock money away in dividend-returning retirement investments that allow tax-free withdrawals or returns at a lower tax rate.

You must be very high graded in your CS job. And I wish you well.

I bought a pair of shoes. I had worn the last pair a year and a half. The new ones feel funny. Funny as in odd or funny- ha ha? Remember when we were kids and if we said our new shoes either hurt or felt funny our parents would say "They'll break in"? My mom said that. I was fortunate to have a dad who would take the shoes to his workbench and use his leather tools to help the shoes to break in.
