I prefer dogliness, and he shits in my yard more than anyone.

Dear Dog, I wish to retract a comment I made years ago. Actually we would like a big reduction in the price of beer. All the other stuff stands.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I was able to avoid jury duty. I don't know why jury trials would be held right now anyways, especially in the tiny courtroom here in town where social distancing would be pretty much impossible. Oh, well--suck it, legal system.

How did you manage to swerve it?

The trial was cancelled, I'm assuming either through a plea bargain or Covid.

The trial was cancelled, I'm assuming either through a plea bargain or Covid. My lawyer friends say this is the most likely outcome, a settlement before trial, often just before. Going to trial is dangerous; you're being judged by people who haven't figured out how to get out of jury duty.

Juries have historically skewed older, to retired and usually more conservative folks with a lot of free time.
I was excused from a civil trial in San Francisco because I told the court that I was prejudiced against corporations, I favored ordinary citizens over them. I meant every word. This was before corporations were declared to BE people. So if I really wanted to wreck havoc, I could have pretended to be normal, gone undercover and participated.

I was originally supposed to work this evening, but had my shifts switched so I could work last night. I am glad, as it has been snowing all evening, and I would not have wanted to drive home through this crap.

The crap has grown steadily worse the past five weeks. Winter's in reverse, this year.

We had a bad few weeks in Ohio, but the last few days have been sunny and warm, and most of the snow has melted.
