Six weeks today will be Boxing Day. Thank fuck. It will all be mostly over by then. Oh cheer up. You might get a garden centre gift voucher for Christmas.

I got the new issue of Games Magazine today. Time to do a cryptic crossword or two.

My gosh, I had no idea that Games magazine was still published. I had a subscription for many years, many years ago. I'm going to look for a copy at the bookstore this weekend. Thanks Introvertigo.

Crossword. Clue: Postman How many letters? Thousands, it's Christmas. And I am guessing that the postman has a cross word or two to say about carrying all that shit, especially in winter.

I think the magazine may have stopped publishing for awhile, then came back. Here's a fun fact. There is a scene in "National Lampoon's Vacation" where a frustrated Beverly D'Angelo peruses a magazine to distract herself, and it is an issue of Games. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. G.I. Joe!

I have a nice Jameson-inspired buzz this evening, although I might have a hungover Christmas morning. Oh, well.

I managed to snare the mouse that has been rampaging through my house for the last two weeks. I rather wish, though, that the mouse trap had killed the rodent immediately instead of leaving the thing alive long enough to bleed all over my kitchen floor. Yeeich.

I was at a cash machine yesterday when a little old lady asked if I could check her balance, so I pushed her over.

It is way too humid outside. If for some reason you have a hankering to visit southern Ohio right now, might I suggest somewhere less humid, like the Brazilian rain forest?

The humidity has dropped considerably. I could actually sit on my front porch earlier and not be immediately coated head to toe in sweat. Now if only the neighbors would stop yelling at their kids as loud as they possibly can, I might go back outside and enjoy some peace and quiet.

I was in Swindon on Saturday. I drove around listening to "Oranges and Lemons". When I took a taxi across town from my hotel to my aunt's party, I asked the driver if he'd ever had that Andy Partridge in his cab. He said yes but declined to tell me where he lived. I was pleased; I was testing him - I did not want to know. I hated the Retail Village which he recommended as a "must-visit" place.

I'm making an effort to swear less on here and away from here. It's not big and it's not clever.
