Blockhead without Aesop Rock is just some good background deep house mood music.
Good trippy video, wouldn't be surprised if it's one of the animators featured in that Dan Deacon video I shared awhile back.

Well then, here you go!
I love this 80's style/miami vice-like chillin on the neon highway at night groove.

bluedemon25, have you fully dipped your feet in the vaporwave? I keep meaning to try it out more, but it's not like there's some "must listen to" list... and it is mainly just background stuff. I was intrigued by watching Dan Bell's "Dead Mall Series" because he will occasionally soundtrack them perfectly with vaporwave.

I think I'm still fairly novice, but I like what Ive heard. I must admit my ignorance or the term vaporwave, can you please enlighten me? I always had a soft spot or appreciation for video game music especislly the mid to late 80s through early 2000s and 90s to 00s for what I think or as "club music"/DDR music techno trance etc. I cant tell what makes one vs the other I just like it
I heard of dead malls. I'll have to check that out, ty.
Man i remember going to the mall as a mid first with parents then as a teen all the time (didn't we all at a certain age?)

I was mostly curious. Really, I kind of want to know a bit more about vaporwave myself. As I understand it, Vaporwave is largely home-produced and intentionally lo-fi synthwave (synthy new wave derivative) that focuses on a kind of fake nostalgia, mostly for the 80's. I did watch a video introduction from a couple guys from the vinyl community including the host of a channel called "Too Many Records"- that guy is pretty into it (and into video game music too). He said that it is mostly physically distributed through cassettes, partially because it fits the aesthetic and partially to fly under the radar because it tends to be full of uncleared samples.
But it's also just an unnecessary label, as there's so much that's similar that giving it a narrow label really restricts it.
I guess if there's one defining album, this is the one that fans point too. ...it's weird.... slowed down Sade... skipping grooves
