Very nice-the moodiness that I like! Long ago, at Barnes & Noble I picked up several CDs that were each various composers from the series In Classical Mood. The first one I purchased was #42 Gypsy Themes. (It had Liszt. I am a sucker for his work.) I loved it and played it over and over in my car. I drove that car back to Barnes and Noble on another occasion and found that the rest of what they had was super cheapo, so I got one each of the remaining ones that they had. (Three more, I think.) My favorite, #42 Gypsy, has pieces by both Ravel and Saint-Saens and what I post may not be the exact performers on my CD, but worth a listen if you have time. Dang I love the gypsy music.

The solo piano version is just astounding, but I have to post the orchestral version, you know, there are flutes.

That is very beautiful piece of music I hadn't heard before. I have very scant knowledge of Classical music, but latched onto Ravel and Debussy. This piece ( the full orchestral version) always transported me in a unique way.

That was lovely, miles! When I hear flute parts like the piece at the very end, I think of butterflies fluttering. I must admit to not being able to Name That Composer when I hear a piece on the radio or TV, but oftentimes if it is one of my mom's favorite composers I can hum or make the appropriate deedle dee doot sounds along with it (while waving my arms around.) She liked Debussy and I liked it when she played Debussy. And Chopin and Beethoven and Papa Haydn. I begged her to play Liszt, and Ferde Grofe's Grand Canyon Suite (On The Trail & Cloudburst). She played Schubert, Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky. I picked up that I liked Paganini from listening to her Classical Music radio station. I found I like Rachmaninoff, that way, too. For me, Classical Music makes me take a deep breath and relax. It keeps my mind busy while I do what I need to do. I tried putting on a Classical Music radio station at work. I instantly chilled out but my boss freaked out and said turn that off, I can't think! That was a bummer. I feel that way about some Jazz, which makes me grate my teeth. Lol. To each, his or her own. My mom would play and it was so magical to sit and listen...sometimes, since she was out of practice, she would get her fingers a bit tangled and have to find her place back in the music again. This is a fun piece...easy for me to say, and this gentleman is a Master.

How about this seven year old girl playing Chopin? I just remembered I like his nocturnes the best.

There's a helicopter-ish noise in here somewhere that is stuck in my head. It starts around 3:16 and is after the bitchen drum solo.

I bet they could teach squirrels to play synthesizers if they really tried.

It could be part of their rehabilitation, becoming useful members of society, instead of furry misanthropes. They could use their tails to play the theremin for instance.

Lovely arrangement. The album holds up spectacularly, unlike some.
