If you ever get a chance to see Explosions In The Sky perform live, I hope you act upon it.

My son introduced me to the creative mind of Neil Cicierega last week...mash ups deluxe...
I laughed so hard, except when I thought about Chester.

Remember, if you give your kids music, they give you some back. I am hoping it works with the Baby Grands, too.

Yesterday was "Vanilla ISIS" by Shredders (rap collab between P.O.S & Sims) overall, not the greatest track, so I won't link, but it has one of the funniest rap insults ever "...tell 'em 'I Destroy.' You got as much flavor as a Lime LaCroix." (Yes, that was from the white rapper of the pair)
This morning, the other side again:
Oh, little miss satellite You'll never be captured like a box kite You will never be held down by a ghost town watching this world Spin circles in the night
You said, "A woman in motion stays in motion, Can't be stopped by mountain, man or ocean"

My son introduced me to the creative mind of Neil Cicierega last week...mash ups deluxe... 1 2 I laughed so hard, except when I thought about Chester. The "Mouth Sounds" made me think of Mike Patton's "Adult Theme's for Voice" - a completely Avant Garde album comprised entirely of mixed vocal noises (and a minor amount of digital enhancement) recorded on cassette in hotel rooms while touring with Faith No More and released on John Zorn's label. WARNING, as said in Wikipedia "the album was largely met with negative reviews citing its abstruse and inaccessible nature." (I love Mike, but have never been able to listen to this album... but it did lead to him and Rahzel being featured on Bjork's Medúlla- also made with no instruments)

Thanks for sharing, Nonsuch Ned . Mike Patton's "Robit Sex" is definitely a curiosity, something to share with my son. As for Mouth Sounds and Mouth Moods, both are album titles. There are things sampled/blended/mashed up that you are probably more familiar with than I am-I just grabbed the two with which I had familiarity. My son said Cicierega used a lot of Smash Mouth vocals.

Yeah, should have said, it was only the name that made me think of Patton. I listened to the first, it was neat. Looked him up and see he's a comedian... so Smash Mouth makes sense- They make you laugh intentionally and even more unintentionally. I kinda liked Walkin' on the Sun but you get over them pretty fast. (this has tobe fake, but hilarious...

Lol Nonsuch Ned will share with my kids. I saw a commercial which had this song as soundtrack music this morning on TV...I thought, those are 80s clothes on the actors...watched it through and saw the actors aging, the kids growing up...turned out to be an ad for Walgreens and Medicare Insurance. Then, I find this video and really listen to the lyrics as a whole. "Here comes Johnny singing oldies, goldies "Be-Bop-A-Lula", "Baby What I Say" Here comes Johnny singing "I Gotta Woman" Down in the tunnels, trying to make it pay He got the action, he got the motion Yeah, the boy can play Dedication, devotion Turning all the night time into the day And after all the violence and double talk There's just a song in all the trouble and the strife You do the walk, yeah, you do the walk of life Hmm, you do the walk of life" A catchy phrase may help people remember the point of a commercial but I think lyricists should be shown more respect than that. Residuals hopefully help with the bills but commerciality sucks.

I like the song, I like the sofas. Don't like them together. Probably need circus music for the commercial, if your kids are going to do that to the furniture.
