Mare asked me the other day if there was a constitution that the mayor should be upholding, so here is a thread to hash out what freedoms and responsibilities will be included in our new charter. And this constitution won't include a dumbass electoral college. We've all been fucked enough by that idea already.

Thank you for that, Finntrovertigo. It would be a relief to avoid an Electoral College continuing debacle. As a step toward agreement and balance I offer this as... The First Article of the Back Porch Constitution: All Registered Back Porch Members have the Right to Discuss and Organize Orgies. The Second Article of the Back Porch Constitution: Every Day Is donavan Day.

What else?
I don't want to be remembered as the Mayor who made all the stupid rules which were amended shortly thereafter.

Article Four of The Back Porch Constitution...All Registered Non-Bot Members of The Back Porch Forum have the Right to Vote in Forum Polls. Article Five of the BP Forum should be about the already established Swear Jar and how the Swear Jar Funds should be spent...the pennies do add up. I think that we should vote on how to disburse the monies. (Even the 12 cents that have accrued since my own mayoral term can be voted to go toward a Special Back Porch Project, like booze for the Crimbo Party or an assistant at the BPPS, for instance.) Article Five of The Back Porch Constitution...Swear Jar Payments and Receipts will be allotted as chosen by Back Porch group poll. Monies remaining from a prior administration will be carried over to the ensuing administration. ...I doubt that will happen, as there are campaign costs for incumbent to appropriate for re-election. Oh, wait... Article Six of the Back Porch Constitution...Back Porch Mayoral Terms are Limited to One Year. Every active member has the right and privilege to serve a term. In the event all active members have had a term in office, repeat single year terms will be considered by Group Forum Vote. No repeat terms should be consecutive. We can Amend to strike Articles Four through Six from the Constitution in the Amendments later if they are too Nit-Picky.

We don't need an official language, but I would like to see if the French ban I instituted as mayor can be made permanent.
