As of tonight parents who drag their tired children onto peak hour trains where there are no vacant seats and wonder why they whine their way home. Now my kids have grown my sympathy for this plight has waned. But back in the day....

Who would you swap places with?
No one. I like my life, baggage and all, just fine. No sense in tempting fate with wishing for someone elses problems.

How far from the town or place you were born do you presently live?

I live in the house I grew up in (I took the house after my dad remarried and after I returned from college), although technically I live about 25 miles from where I was born (babies weren't delivered in my hometown of Greenfield, Ohio, and i was born in nearby Wilmington).
How long have you lived at your current address?

I like my neighbourhood... generally NOT the city because it's kind of redneck. My house is small and old which poses challenges now and then; fix, repair etc but easy to clean.

What do you think makes you special?

Knowing you… and having an understanding and conscientious wife, three kids to keep me exhausted, and a job so tiring I don't notice if I like it or not.
What do you do at the weekend that makes it really special?

I get to totally indulge in making art and, during the warmer months, go for day long bicycle rides.
Name one positive and one negative aspect of the town or area you live in.

Lovely, no jobs.
Where would you live if you could live anywhere in your native country?

"I'm sure you know me well enough to recall that, if I had to be a member of either a town or a country group of people, I'd be a country member". "Yes I do" Ho ho ho.
I live in rural countryside (near the Firth of Forth in Scotland) but work in London. Apparently I'm almost a WILLIE (Works In London, Lives In Edinburgh).
What tiny trivial social infraction makes your blood absolutely flipping' boil?

Not so tiny, but people who don't curb their dogs. I walk my kids to school, and people let their dogs crap on the sidewalk a block away from an elementary school. Even sometimes on the grounds. Awful.
Best thing a complete stranger has ever done for you out of the blue?

Awful. Best thing a complete stranger has ever done for you out of the blue? I'm with you about dogs, Many owners assume that everyone feels the same about their little treasure as they do and don't restrain them when they try to bite your balls off. I act as linesman for my son's football team most Sundays and a few weeks ago some batty woman's dog took exception to my flag and started snarling and barking and generally making himself unsociable. The woman, after some persuasion, eventually put it on a lead and walked off. Ten minutes later she and the dog, sans lead, returned and the whole sorry scene played out again although this time the referee had to stop the game as the dog was now threatening the players as well. The general feeling amongst the spectators was the dog should be saved and the owner put down.
As you were.....

I used to ply Sunday park football. At 16 I joined a team who weren't fairing so well. There goalie, without glasses was very near sited. Anyway in one game the opposition centre forward unmarked surged into the penalty area and unleashed a shot to the right of the keeper. This was at the very moment somebodies Jack Russell ran into the penalty. Given the option of two white blurred objects heading towards the goal, he leapt to his left and saved the Jack Russell
as you were...

On my first trip to London a well dressed, elderly man gave me a flower as I was walking down the street. He didn't say anything; just smiled and handed me the flower. He was carrying a small bouquet so perhaps he was just handing out flowers at random. Eccentric, looney, just being a kind human being, who knows; but it was nice gesture.
How was your day?

Workmanlike, I suppose. Half a day at work, lots of laundry the other half of the day, and a trip to the DMV to renew my driver's license. In the photo, my hair is sticking up from the toboggan I removed right before the picture was taken. Oh well, just four short years until the next license.
How would you rate your driver's license photo?
