Will someone tell my daughter this. She didn't get the memo. Well, that is a bummer! Dear donavan's daughter, Please remember that your Dad was once a young person with ideals, full of life and vitality. Swimming upstream through a bunch of sheep tends to wear a person out. Ask him what he used to do for fun, back in the day. Ask him what music he loved and share what you love with him. Ask him if he'd like to join you in an activity. You will have the coolest Dad there! Oftentimes, we take on responsibility that pulls us away from doing what we loved because we had to be practical. Your Dad cares about you and wants you to be safe, happy and swim in music, not sheep. Your Dad is an individual and no one can take that away from him. Always remember: Dads are people, too. You've got this! Sincerely, Mare Dear donavan's daughter's Dad, Please remember that your daughter doesn't know everything and sometimes it seems an insurmountable amount to achieve just to grow up and be out on your own. You may or may not have agreed with your parents on all kinds of things, most of all how you should go about and present your ideas. There may or may not have been emotional space at home for you to share your opinions with the family. There may or may not have been anyone at home for you to talk your life and stresses over with. Listen. Ask good questions, not the usual parental "Where are you going-when will you be home-who are you going with?" but instead say "That sounds like something I would have wanted to do when I was your age." You've got this! Sincerely, Mare

I think I'd get three seconds in before, 'Whatever!'

Consider it three seconds of quality time.

Indeed. And if I stop talking after two seconds it will be a total success and a positive outcome. By jove Intro, I like your thinking.

Thank you, Don. I avoid completely fucking everything up every once in a while.

I think I'd get three seconds in before, 'Whatever!' Believe it or not, that is just a phase. Eventually, they get it. Hopefully, she's not like me and doesn't get it until too late.

Have a donavan Day-enjoy this song for Humans by Big City Rock "When your heart is bruised And your soul is worn And you're searching for sincerity When there's nothing new Cuz a hole's been torn Through the fragile threads of clarity I guess that's what makes us human I guess that's what makes us human We think therefore we are a bit confused Promises we make we break to keep ourselves amused Everybody sometimes feels like somebody's watching you And it keeps us human Every day you feel the pain Of loneliness and You've got no one to blame And people they talk about it Like it's the daily news And nobody understands it Neither do I I guess that's what makes us human I guess that's what makes us human We think therefore we are a bit confused Promises we make we break to keep ourselves amused Everybody sometimes feels like somebody's watching you And it keeps us human. I am just a man, a man in a city, a city in a state, a state in a Country, country in a world, part of a system, drivin' through the City, stereo is on. People goin' everywhere, people getting nowhere, With the will to carry on" It was also on the mix disc my daughter made me in 2007.
