I have no idea what you are talking about. Mr Truzzi once threatened to kick my head in but on a brighter note tought me how to post a vid or picture. And that sort of sums life up. There is good and bad in all of us. I feel a song coming on......

My usual wash the pots after another wonderful meal by my wife led to Wasp Star. What an album to go out on and could have been even better if Dave could have made it to the end. But his influence remains despite the petulance of Andy. What a pity. Now they all hate each other. Hey ho. It's just the way it is, some things will never change. I feel a song coming on.....

You know that was super. I now love loads of music I previously dismissed. I want to go back and dive in naked and soak it all up. That's just the best way I can sum it up.

Very little contemporary music has reached my ears since the early nineties. Most of the music I consume ranges from the thirties to the eighties. The vein is so rich and so much more melodic and lyrical -- at least to my old-timey ears and mind.
Binged on Bennett, Tormé, Ella and Billie today.

It's popular to laugh at eighties music. I am very fond of it. Not all of it but a lot of it. Especially up to the mid eighties. In fact the late seventies and early eighties were pretty amazing. I guess it ties in with your age then and what you was getting up to. I suddenly feel very old.

All of my children -- ages 10 to 18 -- agree. They love Blondie, Talking Heads, XTC, The Police, Simple Minds, Les Rita Mitsouko, The Bee Gees, ABBA and a host of other disco and new wave artists. They also really enjoy my favourite crooners and sixties bands, especially The Beatles, Beach Boys, Stones, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Charles Aznavour, Charles Trénet. And I've raised them on Broadway and West End musicals, as well -- I even take them to a couple of shows a year.
Of course, they are up to date on their generation's artists, too; but I am quite proud to have raised their awareness and fostered their appreciation of "oldies music". This extends to all forms of art, including cinema: on movie nights, they are just as apt to clamour for a Keaton or Chaplin feature as they are for Disney or Marvel.
