Wow, I've just realised something: Doesn't 1) Lucien Hétu look exactly like 2) André Franquin? 1) 2)

I thought it was Jonathan King at first. Yikes!

Bought this 3 years ago in a used record store's bargain bin. Second edition (1961) of a fifties LP consisting of covers.

I've got dozens of unusual LPs that I pick up for the price of a candy bar. Even if I only listen to them once, it's generally worth the price. If I don't like an album, I give it back to the used record shop. Goodness knows they're barely breaking even, so every penny helps! Listening to this today:

There are hundreds of Frank Sinatra Best Ofs, but this double LP from 1964 is truly one of the very best.

Pretty average album for Dean. Good background music. Relax!

It is what you expect it to be: stereotypical Don Ho-type background music of the kind that was tacked onto every 20th-century TV show episode that ever ventured to Honolulu. Pleasant enough if you're in the mood, but one side is enough!

Another bargain bin refugee from 1975. Busking music 15 years before its time!

Of course, Catch a Falling Star is my favourite. I wasn't born when he had his own tv show, but my folks had a couple of his 8-tracks. I've always thought of him as stuck in between the giants -- the Sinatras, Martins and Crosbys -- and the second tier of famous American crooners, like Bennett, Tormé and Williams. Strange how he's been almost completely forgotten.

But I have no turn-table, so it's impossible.

I especially like the bow tie. Don, you can purchase a good, small turntable with built-in speakers, cd player, cassette player, bluetooth, etc. from Amazon for under £100. Start dropping hints at the dinner table. CLICK HERE TO SEE SOME SAMPLES, DON!

I'm after a wind up one with a big trumpet thingy. One that goes round and round creating magic moments.

Waxing nostalgic, eh? It's actually a good idea. Plus, the trumpet can double as an old-timey hearing aid.
