Oh - it was VERY special. I'm still on a high over it. There is a YT clip out there, even after the requests for it NOT to be filmed. However, this shows how good it was. Also, the band as a whole are bloody fantastic! Steve Tilling (guitar & Gurning!), Gary Bamford (keys & guitar) & Lee Moulding (percussion - doing a lot of backing vocals as Steve lost his voice through a cold) are amazing! Colin's voice is just fantastic... no key changes at all. His falsetto is spot on!
The highlight (and I'm still getting goosebumps over it) is Colin's intimate rendition of Bungalow! WOW!!! Just him, Gary on keys and Steve on guitar effects... you had to be there!
There is an awful lot of talk about these gigs on FB in the TC&I group at the moment. As all the gigs have been audio recorded, there may be some live media... here's hoping!
All in all - a magical, emotional, energised and intimate, amongst a family of appreciative people... something very special! <3

Tight and yet fluid! Also, he's not as hard hitting visually, but still as loud!

pics from last Thursday's great TC&I gig and XTC tour of Swindon the tour begins This was a venue called The Affair where the band played in the early days, now a popular drunk magnet how amazing was it that right opposite was a band related hairdressers! (now closed) OK it's a Morrisons now but it was once a college where the band met! ex band guitarist Dave Gregory lived here once, blinds probably now permanently drawn due to XTC fans hanging around outside this is where the band bought many of their early instruments and records plenty of axes inside the shop owner has this skin signed by drummer Terry the first house on the end was where the band recorded scenes for the video for Love On A Farmboy's Wageslocal pub menu, and yes it was delish! support act George Wilding a sneakily taken (ie rubbish pic) of the band doing Making Plans For Nigelhow appropriate that we should be behind this car as we left Swindon

I was gonna take my copy of The Colonel 7" to get signed but couldn't find it. I did get a few singles signed but loads of folk had albums & posters etc and there were huge queues, but my mate did the honours whilst I wandered about

One whole of TC&I, who were one half of XTC, with 3/4 of Fossil Fools and one whole of Mellotronanism... Two of these people have played XTC drums, three of these have played XTC bass - together in one room!

Has anyone ordered the Naked Flames CD of the live shows? How is it?

Well, I bought and received my copy of Naked Flames last week. Listened to the 13 tracks on repeat all weekend long. Wonderland and its jazzy, piano-based interpretation was the standout for me. Mr. Moulding's voice hasn't aged, and Mr. Chambers can still thwack in time with the best of 'em. The intimate atmosphere was palpable, and I really enjoyed the audience participation, especially on Generals and Majors. Overall, a very enjoyable listening experience. Apparently, only 2 000 CDs were made, and there are no plans for an LP, stream, digitisation or re-pressing.
