Collective irresponsibility. I hate myself a little because of the Prime Minister we have over here. I never voted for her party but I belong to the wider collective who did. Don't smash windows now and blame the politicians. We should blame ourselves. Smash the windows before it happens. We get what we collectively deserve. Dog bless US.

No smashed windows yesterday. Just a lot of people peacefully asserting that they believe in equality and justice. Asserting it loudly and clearly across the globe for all hate-mongering idiots to hear. I hope it continues, in one form or another. It was likely this group that smashed a few windows on Friday. Do anarchists ever bother to vote for anybody? dcist.com/2017/01/black_bloc_explainer.php

F*ck The Fart and the horse he rode in on - my apologies to the horse. Schadenfruede is sweet.
A question I heard over the weekend asked, where was this level of disapproval during the past eight years of the do-nothing Congress? I admit my apathy in not speaking up before and acknowledge the lesson learned. Since mid-November, telephone calls, emails and signatures have become part of my routine of living. I also understand the feeling of frustration/anger those who vehemently opposed President Obama felt for many years. With persistence, hard work and luck, those feelings will be remedied in two years time.
The global reaction was/is a thing of beauty; I hope this fire now lit will be fanned to a conflagration of heretofore unimagined proportions. Here's hoping.

So Nigel Farage has been hired by F*ck the Facts Fox News to be a contributing correspondent. Who's next: Marie Le Pen and Dmitry Medveded? Sounds about right.

The art of talking without saying anything. Trump does this too but in a way the public seem to like. Because he doesn't sound like a politician. Taking away the more extreme things he says I can understand this appeal. His hate of the media, when it suits him also gains him popularity. People like him usually court the media. Looking at Obama's polished exit speeches he reminded me of Tony Blair near the end. The long pauses between words, a disconnect with what once made him seem real. As much as I dislike Trump he's spotted a gap in the market and made it his own. And how many people watch politicians on TV? Not many, but people watch Trump because he's comedy gold. Although the last laugh will be on us.

Can Fox News stay popular when they have to shift to being cheerleaders instead of bomb throwers? How many of their audience will want to tune in to hear how great things are, when they will be obviously worse? Can the grand and glorious leader routine keep the ratings up as high as the let's ridicule the uppity Kenyan who is destroying america show? Can they keep the deplorables in love with trump as he trashes the very ability of government to function, unemployment goes up, and they realize having health care wasn't so bad after all? (when it's gone) They are pure evil so I hope they fail. I still can't get over the pubs being in love with Russia and Putin WTF!

And his message is don't hate yourself for those selfish, cruel and demeaning thoughts and actions you display. BE PROUD OF THEM! Tired of treating people with dignity? DON'T! Insult them and bully them. So when you see your own flaws and don't feel good about them, you are rejecting his poison. And you can still hate him.

Do anarchists ever bother to vote for anybody? dcist.com/2017/01/black_bloc_explainer.phpThe current issue of The Nation* has a good article about the black-bloc and its probable role in the Richard Spencer incident. From the article: "...if we recognize fascism in Trump’s ascendance, our response must be anti-fascist in nature. The history of anti-fascist action is not one of polite protest, nor failed appeals to reasoned debate with racists, but direct, aggressive confrontation." Natasha Lennard, writing in The Nation. *I just noticed that the link is broken; sorry about that.

While the megalomaniac tries to burn down the house it is heartening to see the global backlash. In the UK over one million signatures and growing to deny trump the trappings of a formal state visit.

And in Liverpool right now there is a large gathering of peaceful demonstrators outside St. George's Hall protesting against Trump and his actions and against our own PM who is as equally grotesque. Good on 'em. People just feel like they need to do something, anything. There is a similar gathering in Manchester.

Trump and his gang of sycophants were planning a trip to Wisconsin in the next week or so to bask in the glow of...I don't know what - the nuclear fallout of his executive orders? Anyway, the trip was cancelled. I don't imagine trump can go anywhere in the world at the moment (and hopefully for many years to come) without a very large and vocal crowd making themselves heard loud and clear and stealing the spotlight.
Comedian John Stewart was on TV last night and had these encouraging words:
