I once asked AP this question.

He for once agreed with me: Oasis.

Never enjoyed Dylan, but Like a Rolling Stone is pretty good.

In a restaurant today with my wife. Stressed out and music from the speakers getting on my tits. After a decent light meal and two pints I had chilled out. And the music, non commercial and very repetitive was rocking my boat. So never say never kids.

I didn't necessarily dislike Nada Surf when they first came out--more like indifferent. Now they are one of my favorite bands (though I still don't listen to their first album very often--probably haven't heard it in five years or so).

Lately I have listened to The Doobie's Bros album Minute By Minute, with its calculated, overtly commercial, radio friendly pop-soul rock. It didn't suck, I especially like the title track. I would have been unlikely to say such a thing not too long ago.

When I was a kid, like preteen/tween, I remember really hating Sade. Well, kids are stupid.
I guess I could go with Randy Newman. I didn't really despise him, but I made fun of his voice- like many- and I was unjustifiably angry when took over writing the music for James and the Giant Peach. But after really listening to a large compilation I realized how great a writer he is. Can't say I really love his stuff though... and his Peach song still pale drastically to Andy's demos, but if he comes on I'll actively listen now instead of automatically turning off.

I didn't care for Safety Dance for a long time, but I think the Renfest video threw me off. I rather like the song now.
