My Record Store Day "Must Have" Tremendous on vinyl/proper mastering. Still pretty Good on Youtube (although, album-wise, I slightly prefer "Nublu Sessions") Wax Poetic (s/t) full Youtube playlist"acid jazz" - sort of like "trip-hop" except a much stronger emphasis on Jazz and less on hip-hop. Wax Poetic n particular bring in world music influences too.

Today it was The Future Sound Of London...Dead Cities. I had to turn it up on my phone, as a worker at someone else's condo was tossing heavy things into the empty recycling dumpster. It made such a racket. I was trying to concentrate on making a Ghostbusters logo to put on the gift bag for my son's present...BluRay Ghostbusters movie. That's what he wanted. Making a black paper bag and little red or white paper plates into a craft project was my idea.

Cool, Ghostbusters is wonderful.
What's Dead Cities mean in that music context?
Make me think of this TV series I think it was called life after something or other. The premise was what would be left of cities if people vanished after x years , y years, z years. Sort of theoretical future archeology finds. I thought it was interesting.

Dead Cities' album name, I am not sure about, Bluey. Haven't researched the concept. As far as Life After People, well I loved that series. I was astounded by the plant that, without people keeping this non-native plant in the U.S. at bay with trimmers and toxic plant killer, could crush and destroy concrete and obscure huge edifices. The very concept of what will happen to all the crap people built on this Earth that is just as mortal as humans are was a scary comfort of sorts. The mess we made will eventually disappear, too. I mean, look at all the things archaeologists are discovering in Central America from Mayan Civilizations with the help of Lidar-massive jungles have overgrown enormous cities. Stunning!

That reminds me also. There was this show I loved. I wish it had more seasons but there were 2 at least I think. It was I believe called Cities of the Underground. It had an archaeological kind of theme but more popular interest than seriously academic. They'd go see ruins from different civilizations from different rule periods that were as you might guess literallumy underground. I thought the subject matter they chose was fascinating and so neat to see.

I didn't get very far into it before I pictured Pokey leaning up against a palm tree, strumming and singing somewhere on the Gulf Coast...the waves lapping on the beach.
