Martin Mull! I have been enamored with him since Mary Hartman! Mary Hartman! Fernwood 2 Night is a danged good parody of any night time interview show, past and present. You post this and then Fred Willard dies.

You post this and then Fred Willard dies. Believe me, brian, I am not happy about it. I hope I didn't jinx Mary Kay Place, too.

Needed a pick-me-up after watching the news again this morning, so I had Polyphonic Spree on most of the afternoon.

The Storyteller's Suitcase POSTER (11 x 17) The Storyteller's Suitcase FLASK The Storyteller's Suitcase JOURNAL The Storyteller's Suitcase MULTI-TOOL (pen, screwdriver, flashlight, compass, and more!) 2 GOLDEN TICKETS for any Ellis Paul show! (with some exceptions/conditions) A special thank you postcard from Ellis. Ellis Paul is a favorite singer songwriter. But ten years ago he put out the second of two albums albums with production I just didn't like. Big sound from a country producer. Ellis is an award-winning ACOUSTIC performer. The studio albums always have a bit more instrumentation but those were way too much. .... so I stopped following him. Still regularly listened to the old albums and figured I'd look his sttuff up again. Finally did. The key to this is of course the USB that has all the old albums. A couple of what I had were actually poor burned versions, so it wasn't only a collection of everything I missed but also an upgrade on most of the others. And he makes his money mainly from touring, So I caught one of his facebook streams and decided to pitch in during this period by aking up for lost time. On his 2012 album now, which I thought, at the time, was from the same producer as the others, but it's not nearly as obnoxious.

Nice! Thanks, Ned! What else is good? He has a BIG "Essentials" double album. Looks like it's all on Youtube www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kJSbbwyDkmrPKws7gmWTJkfCAb9byyq20The middle period has his best stuff IMO. First 2-3 albums are a bit boring but he was still clearing up the songwriter awards in Boston at the time. Translucent Soul album is my favorite- largely a break-up album but still extremely romantic in both senses of the word. It has two of his best known songs on it. Angel in Manhattan & The World Ain't Slowing Down. Favorite song is probably.... from The Speed of Trees, and a slightly different one from an outtakes album titled "Sweet Mistakes" and the soundtrack to the Farrelly Brothers dud Shallow Hal.

RTJ4 And every day on the evening news, they feed you fear for free And you so numb, you watch the cops choke out a man like me Until my voice goes from a shriek to whisper, "I can't breathe" And you sit there in the house on couch and watch it on TV The most you give's a Twitter rant and call it a tragedy But truly the travesty, you've been robbed of your empathy Replaced it with apathy, I wish I could magically Fast forward the future so then you can face it And see how fucked up it'll be
