My friend Ed's teenage son (who is a very discerning and knowledgeable music fan of many genres) recently bought the album on vinyl and has declared it to be one of the best pieces of music he has ever heard. Great art is timeless.

Except for the singles, I had never heard it as an album until quite late (early 90s.) It really was a revelation, and I also began to discern how it had influenced so many other favorite artists and recordings. It can't be rated high enough imo.

May 16, 1966, would also have been Don Day if Don weren't a whippersnapper of 39.

I can barely remember what I did last week, let alone what I did when I was a kid. I have a weird memory. I'm good at remembering information as long as said info isn't personal, but information about myself doesn't register for very long. Most of my childhood I have blanked out, for whatever reason.

I remember 1966 well because England won the world cup at Wembley. I attended the event with my son.

Didn't take the great-grandchildren, too?

No. They were too young to appreciate it. But they are appreciated. Although they don't believe that. It's a hard knock life.

13 July 2023--happy 20,877 days since 16 May 1966. Isn't it amazing what a simple Google search can find you?
