Thanks, longinglook ! I like "Cold As A Knife", too. Plus "These Dreams In Me," "Off The Vine," "On The Streets Again" and "Drifter's Lament." Pretty good album!

The songs are all a bit straight forward and have a predictable sort of thing about them. But there is a lot to like about straight forward and predictable these days.

Thank you, sweet Mare! I hope your Thanksgiving was lovely! It was, thank you very much! New Traditions flavored with the parts of the old ones that I love have given me much strength and hope. Plus, it's not so weird to be a Vegetarian at the holidays, anymore.

My heart goes out to you longinglook ! Live music will find another venue, but The Saturn Bar sounds like it was a fabulous, one-of-a-kind place to hang out and enjoy music. Fingers crossed that someone really cool picks it up and makes its absence only temporary.

Hello! Alex released this one as a single recently. It was written before the whole virus thing happened, but kind of fits it anyway. Fun fact:It is the last song I heard Alex's band, (or any band for that matter), play at the Saturn. Last March. Seems like a million years ago. alexmcmurray.bandcamp.com/track/here-at-the-end-of-the-world

Nice! Thanks for the link, longinglook! I really like this part-the flow, rhyme schemes... "the world the world who wants a world? we’re giving it all away hang it all on a nail then a weep and a wail get down on your knees and pray its a crashing and a dying everybody knows why and we’ll all expire in the water and the fire and we’re lost in the mud and the moon fills with blood & the trumpet gonna sing through the heaven it rings and jesus come around said its all going down he says, “it’s all on you” tell us, “baby i’m through” he’s gonna wash his hands but maybe i got plans" Nice Mr. McMurray is romantic, even when thinking in Biblical proportions. <3

P.S. OH! A Cowsill singing back-up? One of or a descendent of THE Cowsills?

Susan Cowsill is the youngest member of the original family band. She has lived down here for a long time. She and Alex are friends and he plays in her band when she gigs around town. You can't really tell from the little bit she does on this song, but she has quite a lovely voice. And she is sort of charmingly goofy and sweet.
