Awesome!!! Thanks, Andy!
I love this song, and fondly remember singing the chorus with my (then) 5 year old nephew while visiting the San Diego Zoo in 1982. (Taking my brother's kid to the zoo and singing an AP tune was a great icebreaker for talking to attractive young women, so thanks for that too, Andy!) wink.gif
1.1.3.3.3.3 Bb6/F (does it alternate between this chord and C, or is that only the mallets?)
1.3.2.1.1.1 Fm(maj7)
1.3.3.2.1.1 F "go tell your stale friends..."
X.4.3.4.4.4 Db9
3.5.3.3.3.3 Gm7 "not to try to push...."
3.5.3.3.4.3 Gm7(add#5)
3.5.3.3.5.3 Gm7(add6)
X.6.5.6.6.6 Eb9
1.3.3.2.1.1 F "It's nearly Africa..."
X.4.3.4.4.4 Db9 "WEY-O-O"
1.3.3.2.1.1 F "any day now"
3.1.1.3.1.1 Eb6/9 (over G bass) "any day now now"
...indeed, a lovely and original AP voicing of "E-flat six/nine over G bass", far cooler than the standard (higher) voicing of 3.6.5.5.6.6
