Any globe fans on the forum? I came across this fascinating website, story and video and thought I’d share the global goodness Visit the Bellerby & Co website here They truly are works of art. I would very much like to own one but since I don't have the funds to do so, I may just have to make my own crude approximation of one. It might be just the thing for a Winter project. The business is located in Stoke Newington - have any of you Londoners/UKers ever visited it or heard of it? I think it would be a treat to see in person.

Never heard of them until this post. I can appreciate the time and dedication that goes into this project but the prices are a bit steep. But I guess I'm not the market they are aiming at. Probably why I've never heard of them. Made me think of a certain song.

Ouch!(prices) but lovely things. Trouble is, the way the world is going, they'll be historical documents a year after you buy one! Peggs: Stoke Newington is an unremarkable part of (North)East London. My wife lived there when we first met in the early 90's and it was a bit rough, but has now gentrified somewhat as no-one normal can afford to live in the nice bits of town any more. Chief claim to fame was its association with the Kray twins, lovely old east-end gangsters, ha ha. www.cockney.co.uk/Gangland/the-kray-twins.html

You can't please some people. I asked my wife what she wanted for her birthday. 'I'm not getting any younger and would love to see the world' she said.
Apparently a Globe was not what she had in mind.

I may have found the cause of global warming--the world is spinning way too fast.

After many years of traveling the globe, an explorer was recently eaten by cannibals.
He died as he lived, a seasoned traveler.

In the cannibals' defense, they thought Captain Cook was an instruction.
