I was wondering if the Forum Legal Dept. could look over this thing I read, (see below.) I am particularly interested in the claims made by the author in the fourth paragraph. The whole thing sounds like a pretty good idea to me, but will it land me in the joint? "I was at Whole Foods yesterday, which is owned by Amazon, which paid $0 in income taxes on $11 Billion in profits in 2018, and which is operated by Jeff Bezos, who is worth roughly $112 Billion, making him the wealthiest man in the world.
The reason that I mention this is that Whole Foods was having a holiday food drive and had the absolutely ludicrous fucking audacity to suggest that I purchase food from them so I could then give it back to them so that they could use it to feed hungry families during the holidays. In essence, a man who is worth more money than the average human would earn in 45,000 lifetimes asked me to give him $5 so that hungry children could have crackers because it is essential that he profit before hungry people eat.
Whole Foods and Jeff Bezos should not need me to broker this transaction, but since they asked, I solved the problem that they are either too stupid or too selfish to solve on their own by walking through the aisles, grabbing armfuls of food and depositing it in the donation bins. You’re fucking welcome.
It’s really a zero-risk maneuver, as you haven’t stolen anything, simply placed items in a different location in the store, and in the unlikely event that you are confronted by an overworked and underpaid Whole Foods employee, you can ask them to try to sort your contribution out of the donation bin by figuring out the exact point when they are taking food out of the mouths of hungry children and when they are taking money out of the pocket of the man who accumulated that money by underpaying and overworking his employees.
I will be doing this on every visit to Whole Foods throughout the holidays and hope that all of you do the same. Happy Holidays."I'm not a lawyer, and I couldn't get a job on TV pretending to be. It is an interesting argument. If nothing is taken from the store, it may not qualify as shoplifting. I suspect the stores will figure this out and move the bins past the purchasing area, making it more dodgy or at least watch for people walking to the bins with armloads of stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if a few employees slip a few items in there themselves. It is evil on par with the Walmart food bank for starving underpaid workers, supported by the other underpaid workers. No taxes for us, why don't you peons take care of charity, we're too busy acquiring everything not nailed down.

Okay my question, is there a specific charity you support and why?

Save The Children. Because I used to run half marathons for them. Can't run at all now. Thought it was more credible than others. But don't know now.
I don't earn enough to pay significant amounts to charity.
There should be no need for charity. We pay tax. That should go to good causes. But it doesn't. So we pay twice.
Supermarkets with food collections on exit whilst they bin endless food out the backdoor. Disgusting.
You can't be done for shoplifting until you exit the store. So if the collection bins are within the store fill them up.

I must be. I perceive the world is going seriously wrong, and feel entirely impotent to effect even the small aspects. Every so often some positive change occurs in my life and or work and improves my outlook or productivity. I'm hoping another one will arrive soon, as I plod on.
What makes you optimistic?

Pessimism. Went for a coffee with my wife this morning before we did the weekly shop. Bumped into an alcoholic homeless person and had s great chat . Even carried my stuff over after I forgot to get a tray. That's what keeps me going. Beautiful forgotten people.
Do you think you will pull a Christmas Cracker?

Is it time to stop ranting on about the election result? Start a poll and we can vote on it.
