You have to go back to 1969 to find the last time saints won back to back matches at Old Trafford. That was when Ron Davies scored a hat trick!
More worrying for the Mancs though was two games in a row with just one shot on target. Saints only had two but at least one them went in...
That goal was worth the £4m fee alone!
Moyes was a poor choice by he board. The Dutch dullard is no better. Not sure who does recruitment at Old Trafford but they need to pull their socks up for the next manager.

Hang on you could have said the same about Fergie for his first 5 years. Managers need time. LVG's CV was excellent, so it's not as simple as that. I think the players need to have a long hard look at themselves and step up. And some of the fans need to get a grip too. United we stand......

I think you out of tune with the mood at old Trafford... as for managers needing time - the average tenure of a manager is now down to about 18 months. (Source PMA).
Most would say its not the players its the tactics and structure of the team. I don't watch them enough to know...

No matter what structure and tactics you play, you should do the simple things right like passing the ball. I've never seen United do so many foul throw ins. The simple elementary things are missing. As for being out of step with the mood at OT, well the boo boys get all the headlines. Many are behind the team but frustrated and looking for improvement and not a change of manager.

from todays press
Louis van Gaal offered to resign as the Manchester United manager on Saturday following the dismal home defeat by Southampton but Ed Woodward, the executive vice-chairman, persuaded him to discuss his future with his family. Having returned to the Netherlands on Sunday Van Gaal will hold fresh talks with Woodward on Tuesday when he is expected at the club for first-team training.
At the meeting Woodward and Van Gaal will discuss the way forward but it is possible the manager could yet insist it is best for the club if he leaves.

I hope he sticks it out until the end of the season. Time for the booing to stop and everyone to come together. Scholes shutting his face would be a bonus too. Play the kids in the Europa and give the League and FA Cup a good go. Then review it at the end of the season.

Just checked. Its not from Manchester United ) ir their web site) that comment but from the BBC web site who say "Sources" said Louis van Gaal did not offer to resign at the weekend, despite reports to the contrary.
Which is pretty much what the Guardian is citing. Now which sources are telling the truth and which are telling porkies!!

To be honest, who offers to resign in football. There's more money to be made in getting sacked. And it amounts to the same thing: you leave the job. Although a sacking can be dressed up as a resignation. A mutual agreement. It's a funny old lucrative game.

Well Gary Lineker has just said the same so how can you blame the manager for that. The ridiculous reply from Shearer isn't worth quoting.

Good FA Cup draw and Pep going to City is good news for LVG and United. We need stability and have a top manager. Let the rebuild continue.

I was reading about managers salaries. Most prem mangers ar on about £2/3 million per year. I heard Poch is on about £3m. One of the reasons Klop went to the Pool is a £7m salary. It is said only Mourinhio, Ferguson and Wenger have earned more in the premiership than this.
I bet pep is on a fair wack...
So Don, next season - VG, Mourinhio or poch in charge?

Well I reckon we have a season and a half of Koeman and then he may be off... unless Saints show more ambition in terms of retaining players.
