Cheese: I bloody love cheese!
Tell us about your favourite; or maybe you don't like cheese
If you don't like cheese you are dead to me.

Let them scoff, bimble, I'm with you. I like cheese as well. In fact, it is the focus of my job. I've met many wonderful makers and farmers and have tasted cheese from all over the world. Living in America's Dairy Land, I am biased toward the local varieties of cheese that are available. My favorite at the moment is Anabasque, a lovely aged sheep's milk cheese that I eat with just about everything. It makes a wicked grilled cheese sandwich when paired with aged cheddar and sourdough bread. Cheese is such a big deal in these parts that there's even a grilled cheese championship. What are your favorites, bimble?

I imagine that the benefit of a dog eating a lot of cheese would be that he is too constipated to shit all over the carpet. Dog forgive me for blaspheming.

Well, bimble. A subject we might actually agree on. I love cheese and a little too much as my waistline these days may attest to. I'll eat pretty much any cheese except the stinky blue types. I'll never forget several years ago, a neighbour of mine offered me some Wensleydale with cranberries (on a cracker) and I just about was sick. Brie is probably my current favourite. Love, luv, lurv Creme Delin. Just sit and smear it on some lovely fruit toasts along with a glass of wine to wash it all down and all your cares disappear.... along with your waistline as stated above. Oka is a wonderful Canadian cheese. Mild and nutty and delightful. It was originally made by the Trappist Monks in Montreal. I would definitely recommend this one whilst you're out on your next cheese excursion. I absolutely adore smoked Cheddar. My favourite is Isle of Kintyre Applewood Smoked but only available here around Christmas as it's imported and quite expensive ... worth every penny though. There are Applewood smoked Canadian cheddars available here all year round which I will just have to settle for until Christmas.

Thank you Peggs and Suzi for being sensible. Cheese is a serious business and those others are very childish and have no class. None at all.
I couldn't possibly say what my favourite cheese is. There are so many, though I too am not a big fan of blue cheese. From fresh mozzarella right on through to Stinking Bishop and full-on cheddar, it's all good. Yum! I even like the processed slices that are an essential for a proper burger, some of which are called "Cheese Food" in the US because they're only vaguely related to real cheese.....
