I am not employed but I have been helping my friend (who lives across the street) with some of her work lately of which she is kind enough to pay me a small pittance. Like Peggs, I will have to don wet weather gear ... and my rubber boots especially as I have a huge puddle that I'm afraid will drown someone by the end of the day if it gets bigger. Hugs .... Your general existence sounds iddiliic to those of us on this side of the pond.

Can't get on my train. Lime Street station full of Man U fans. Had to pop into the pub to let things calm down. Bouncers only letting Liverpool fans in. Looks like I've fooled the doormen. Cheers!

My excitement to be back on the bicycle was short-lived. I guess I jumped the gun a bit. So now, next week, or the week after, is the goal to begin the daily ride. Fingers crossed!

I don't know if this occurs everywhere or if I am unlucky enough to live in the middle of an area of asshole drivers, but I have noticed in the last couple of years a lot of drivers who will not turn off their high beams for any reason. I guess blinding other drivers is a new sport. By the way, I have been meaning to ask--is darts a sport?

Yes. It's the HIGHLIGHT of sport.

My daily commute bicycle rides have been a bit chilly this week. Temperatures not quite freezing in the morning but a hat, scarf, gloves and a warm jacket are in order. This morning's ride was more of the same but the ride home was done in a cold rain. Thank goodness for a hot cup of tea.

We are into the farming season, meaning my commute is constantly interrupted by tractors, tillers, harvesters, etc. constantly blocking the two-lane highways I must use. I think that as payback I should start driving through their cornfields.

You could make crop circles with your car.

My daily commute has the potential of becoming a bit more adventurous this summer. A couple of days ago a bear was seen wandering around a local neighborhood. Bears are not uncommon in the rural areas but in town it is a rarity. Riding my bicycle through the woods and marshland that separates the North side and South side of town has just become more exhilarating.

I always love road construction, especially when no signs are posted about said construction, leading to backtracking five miles before finding a detour. Oh, well, at least my brain still works, as far as I know.

For some reason the air conditioner on my car has stopped working at the exact same place five times in the last three weeks. This occurs when I stop at the grocery store after work, and even stranger is that the ac kicks back on the exact same place, a gas station about a mile away. Maybe the place is haunted--I'm getting goosebumps, or I would be if the ac were functioning properly.

Funny this thread has come to life as I wait on the platform at 06.35 because two previous trains have been cancelled. Not really funny.

I was asked to a store about seventy miles from my house (my usual commute is about twenty miles) to help the inept staff catch up on work that should have been a week before. I succeeded in damaging the bottom of my car on the crappy conditions of Interstate 71, and I have been forced to speed up my plans to replace my old car (I thought my car would at least last the year, possibly longer). I hate driving.

I'm about to head out the door for my morning bicycle commute to work. Today is the first day I'll need a bike light to make my way; another year, another trip around the sun....

Since I had to get up early for work this morning, I decided to listen to "The Big Express" on the way. I figured "Wake Up" would be a good idea.
