Wow, Mr. Tein, Deerhoof are outstanding. I looked them up on ye olde YouTube and was floored! That's how rock n roll should be played. Bits of the song, Last Fad, reminded me of early XTC - how cool is that. Where did you see them play?

What shall we do with a whole bunch of drunken would-be sailors? Sing sea shanties with them, of course! I just heard that the Valpariso Mens Chorus will be sailing back to the Saturn Bar in late October. What a great way to celebrate the end of hurricane season! Their gigs are not everyone's cup of tea, but I love 'em. www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W5Dx6zzXZQ

DEERHOOF - what a gig. Crazy stuff. No 4/4 rock cliches on show here... Just checked them out www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cQ9kUPoaqIMan that drummer oughta be chained up somewhere........ Reminds me a little of a more polite World Domination Enterprises www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGJrAXZDOfc(My formative years best mate Digger on drums. He's now a Jehovah's Witness missionary in the Congo. Really.)

When I saw Deerhoof I was right at the front of the stage and the drummer was right at the front of the stage ( Jazz drummer positioning) in front of me.
At times I thought his cymbal might decapitate me.

Pugwash are great. I have seen them about 5 or 6 times now. When they played southampton we asked them around for a pre gig meal and sat in the garden with them on a warm sunday afternoon. And Dave lake is a great guy too.
What set did they do. Did they do the new album?
