Caught a Todd Rundgren show a few weeks ago at the Wilma Theater. Liked it! The guy can still sing. Prairie Prince played drums. They played a few covers, such as "Muskrat Love" by America and "Brand New Key" by Melanie. Odd, but not at all unpleasant! Todd said the band plays 63 songs, and he chooses which songs to play right on the spot. So before each song, he'd turn around and tell the band what they were playing. He sort of sat back on a stool and played guitar. Made me wish I'd seen him live when he was in his salad days, but overall, it was a very good show. And I even forgave him for his behavior during the recording of Skylarking!

Went to the Echo and the Bunnyman show with my wife. They were one of our favorite bands when we met in 1981.
As I mentioned in another thread, it was a bittersweet show. Ian was in poor shape and clearly uncomfortable, but he kept giving it his best. The passage of time has not been kind, but Never Stop. Being a show in Eugene, a laid-back crowd was supportive throughout, especially after he confessed the "technical problems" were actually breaks for him to go offstage and take oxygen.

Love is like oxygen You get too much you get too high Not enough and you're gonna die. The first 2 ways that I discovered to get high were, hyperventilating and spinning around until dizzy. I never tried them at the same time however.

Well, I can't find one online, longinglook, and I have a bad memory, but many of the songs are included on a set list from a different show: Open My Eyes (Nazz song) Black and White I Don't Want to Tie You Down Are You Havin' Any Fun (Tony Bennett cover) I Saw the Light Love of the Common Man Brand New Key (Melanie cover) Hash Pipe (Weezer cover) Cliché Don't Bogart That Joint (Little Feat cover) Incense and Peppermints (Strawberry Alarm Clock cover) Lysistrata (Utopia song) I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) - (The Proclaimers cover) The Walls Came Down (The Call cover) I Won't Grow Up (Mary Martin cover) Good Times Roll (The Cars cover) Too Far Gone Can We Still Be Friends Let's Do This I'm So Proud (The Impressions cover) Ooo Baby Baby (The Miracles cover) I Want You (Marvin Gaye cover) Encore: Hello It's Me One World (Utopia song)

Sounds like a fun show. Re the covers, he always did have a sense of humor.

Musical highlights from 2018-2019- Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin in Pet Sounds Live
- David Byrne's American Utopia tour
- Revolution: Beatles Symphonic Experience -- not a first for me, but hearing A Day in the Life and I Am the Walrus with a 60-piece orchestra never fails to send shivers up and down my spine
- Le Cirque du Soleil's Love in Vegas
- a fantastic Bee Gees tribute band
- a gathering of local musicians and singers performing Joni Mitchell's Blue, track for track, in an intimate jazz club setting
Will catch a few Broadway musicals with a kid in tow in the upcoming season, including Waitress, The Kind and I and Hamilton. That will pretty much bust the budget, musically, as I also attend performances in other arts -- comedy, ballet, theatre -- as well as sporting events. (Don't worry, each child gets a turn to go with me. They still get the lion's share of my discretionary income!)

I went to a Pretenders concert last night. It was a tribute act.
